  1. I still would like to what DBT is. I'm needy.
  2. yeah, they've got to be mpeg 4's or .h264's. both of which are definitely not xvid's. you'll have to use some software, and it doesn't work quickly. i have a mac, so i've never used anything... but this looks like what you want: http://www.divx-digest.com/software/free_i..._converter.html
  3. edie, the file format for ipod is mpeg4... not .avi, which actually isn't even a "format" per se. the videos that ipods play are strictly mp4's and also the .h264 codec. i used isquint to convert divx or xvid movies to ipod format when i had a video ipod... which was for about a week. i returned it and got a cowon A2... it plays anything. are you on a pc or mac? what is your os version? also, aren't they already in .avi ? i don't think there's a .xvid, xvids usually come in the .avi "wrapper". oh, and i didn't see that the post was from so long ago. sorry.
  4. oh yeah. edm on the headphones is perfect. throw in some pharmaceuticals of your choice and it's "on".
  5. sorry, i meant it to read that i, not him, don't think ppl should sing along to every song. i wrote that poorly. like i said b4, there are some times that i think it's OK, few and far between albeit, but sometimes it's OK with me. certain songs, certain lyrics. for example: if the crowd sings along to 'box full of letters' for the 'the way i want it to read' part, that is OK with me. how about this? would it be OK if the entire band sang along to every lyric with tweedy? i've always been really sensitive to people singing at concerts. it just doesn't make sense to
  6. he does indeed like singalongs. not every song tho. isn't 36 young'ish? i sure hope so. i get carded for copenhagen all the time. most ppl think i'm about 25 or so.
  7. kc has good things i'm sure. how about some advice? the one thing i've liked here for sure: seasons and the bbq. l live in the northland (parkville) and i'm single and still kinda young (36) so, i'm probably living in the wrong part of town. and, don't take offense, but do you really think it's ok to sing at a concert? i'm sure YOU had fun singing, hell yeah, i'd love to sing at a concert, just as i sing along in the car and at home, but NOT around people that paid good money to hear someone else sing.
  8. "pat did seem like he was having much more fun on friday when we were all dancing at mccoys though." are you talking about pat sansone?
  9. What's DBT? Yeah, you're right about the arguing with talkers. I don't even say anything. I move, well, that is if it's GA. I chuckle about your pizza story. I ate there when I picked up ticket last week. I waited 43 minutes for my sandwich and over 15 for them to take my money. All the while the owner and manager were sitting right next to me and didn't take notice. You know, KC has it's good sides (affordable housing being the best) , but, for my 2 years year from the West coast, I've had more bad than good. Every single home-repair guy that's come to my house has
  10. Yeah, for that 3 show deal with Wilco, there was an awful lot of guitars. That's not normal. Joe Brumley (one of the original members) was with them, as well as the guy who was filling in for him. I can see how hearing them for the first time live would be confusing, for lack of a better word. I'd bet you'd like them if you gave it a listen on myspace.
  11. Oh yeah. I forgot about that. I went to the Louisville one. Jeez, that was great... two of my favorite artists together. It was like LOW opening for them last summer. Dan has been working on new material, so we should get some new stuff soon hopefully.
  12. Anybody a fan? Never heard of them? http://www.myspace.com/earlydayminersband
  13. my advice is to pick up a dvd player w/ dvix. i've seen them for 30 bucks recently. philips usually are divx certified. but, toast on a mac will do the conversion and burn to dvd for playing on a standard dvd player, however, as you know it takes a long time. typically overnight.
  14. The show at Crossroads last night was about my 10th Wilco show, I can't recall exactly. While I love the current line-up, I didn't exactly "love" the show last night. It was the venue that pretty much ruined it for me. The band seemed to be annoyed b4 the show, as someone else posted as well. I saw a few of them when I was walking in and they were all on their cell phones and looked irritated. And I saw Pat after Bird's performance and he looked "highly pissed off". Anyway, the "MC" as ppl have complained about was/is the owner of the restaurant, Grinders, and I assume he al
