Wilco - Baltimore - Lyric Opera House - 12/14/2008

I agree, the show was great but I feel like I've seen the same show several times over in the last two years. Perhaps I'm seeing Wilco too much, so it might be a good idea for a break. -
Didn't realize they've never played All is a Game before... that's such a great song. I am bummed, this is the first tour in several years where I've missed them. Glad to see they are playing and selling out bigger rooms, they deserve it.

I did manage to get tickets... it didn't seem to start right at ten by my watch, I think it was a few minutes behind, more like 10:02.

Keep trying!! Do not give up, I got tickets for the 9:30 about 15 minutes into the presale by hitting refresh over and over.

Looks like 8/9 will be the Virgin Festival in Baltimore... I saw it last night in Spin magazine. Forgive me if it's posted somewhere but it's early on Monday morning!

Just getting in from the weekend and I am glad to hear so many people saying how bad the crowd was. I was in the back of the floor and it was almost depressing how little attention people were paying to the show, they were just there to be there. I need to bring a ruler and have a little concert etiquette 101 with people. That being said, the band delivered. No way can I ever complain, they do their best every show. -

The 9:30 Club only holds maybe 1,500 people and it's in a major market for Wilco, so between the number of fans and the number of scalpers, the shows sell quick. Wilco often plays Merriweather (booked by the same outfit) when the weather is warmer, which holds roughly 5X that amount. As far as indoor rooms go in the area, most aren't that great. Soooo, they could play other rooms but the 9:30 Club and the folks that book it are some of the most respected in the business. I think they purposely keep shows off the web site to deter scalpers, figuring that most people know how to find out wh

Another note that the venue is about a block of less from the 69th Street Station, so you can party anywhere on the outskirts and hop on the train in and out. Look at the Septa web site for info, the trains run really late heading into center city, as well as out to the suburbs. That's honestly the easiest way to handle any trip there. I would not advise you to walk around Upper Darby looking for a good time, it's a shithole.

KEEP TRYING! I pulled two for Wednesday at 10:25. EDIT: Looks like just Tuesday is left, I must have got the last pair. Just keep hitting continue... Double Edit: I guess you can only get tickets for one night anyway. I'll have to try for Tuesday tomorrow.

I 100% agree with your statement. I saw Ween there recently and people kept saying "how can you see Ween in a seated theater?" Well, granted we had awesome seats, but we didn't have all of the riff raff of a normal Ween show...

The Tower is a great place for Wilco to play, it holds about 3K (perhaps a bit more) and has two balconies. Great sight lines and I haven't seen a show that had bad sound there yet out of about ten. Sure it's seated, but I tend to like that a bit more, you have a spot that no one can take!

As an outsider to Chicago, but as someone who has traveled there many times on recreation, I wouldn't dump a huge amount into a room. There's honestly so much shit to see and do you'll never really spend any time in the hotel. My girfriend and I go for a week a year and still barely spend any time in the hotel other than sleeping and other unmentionables. The first year we went all out and stayed at some balls out B&B, the next year we downgraded to a four star hotel, then three star and went even further down from there. We figured the more money we save on the room the more we can

Got shut out for the Tower, need two seats.... HELP! I would be willing to give up my pair to the Ryman in an even swap. EDIT - Job obligations are restricting me from making the trip to Nashville... so the pair for the Ryman is for sale at face, please PM me, first come, first serve. STILL LOOKING FOR TOWER TICKETS THOUGH!!! Okay, those Ryman tickets are going to good use, but I am still in need of a pair to the Tower. HELP!

Last night was my eighth Wilco show and just beat out the last 9:30 show for the best. I was close, but then again I've been lucky enough to be withing 25 feet of the front row each time I've seen them. Comparing the show two years ago at Merriweather and this one, while both great they were very diifferent. The first show Nels kicked ass, but still was a bit out of place and almost seemed like a guest. Now they are playing like a BAND and seem to be enjoying themselves more than any band I've seen in years, possibly ever. Having seen a ton of shows at Merriweather, the folks at IMP have
