Wife and I will be in Gilroy, Ca the end of this month. Any suggestions or tips for Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival? We've never been and will be in SF that weekend.

ZZ Top played above and beyond last night. Seen them a handful of times, but this show was fantastic. By far the best they have sounded in decades! Jeff Beck was of course masterful, but his set was all over the place and never really found a groove. When he joined them onstage for the encore, Beck ripped out the opening for I Ain't Superstitious to start Sixteen Tons. Such a tease....

Prince was in Vegas playing a show at the Empire Ballroom in prep for his stint at the Rio. Probably only 300 or so in attendance. We posted up behind a reserved half-circled booth. The place filled to capacity except this booth in front of us. Minutes before the show starts, in walks Velvet Revolver (san Scott) and sits right in front of us. At one point, Prince is really going for a shred on the guitar and I tell Slash, "He knows you're here!!" Slash turns around, smiles and the lights sparkled off his teeth like that gum commercial. Bling!!!

Just got 4 tix for the Dallas show. Looking forward to seeing Steve Winwood, too. Don't really care how much the cost was, considering I blow several hundred dollars on dinner everyday. Big decision now is whether to fly down there in my G5 or just buy a limo and have my assistant drive us.
Hmmmm... Decisions, decisions.

I would say The Kinks are the most underrated.

What do you mean?
A Wasteland Companion just came out last year.
I bought the first 2. I don't think I hated them or anything, but I am not feeling the desire to hunt down 3. I'm most shocked at how it already has 20+ reviews on Amazon. I guess the actress connection really helps.
WC is good and all, but it's clear She & Him has softened up this otherwise brilliant songwriter. I liked the first release and yes, I like ZD, but enough already... :-D

Hopefully they'll break up the band and Matt can put out a solo record, finally.
Best Wilco lyric ever!
