  1. I was there and it was a very good show. No Tweedyspeak until about half way through the set. The music spoke for itself. The setlist was great. They are so tight. The first encore was amazing, as was Nothing'severgonnastandinmyway (Again) and Magazine Called Sunset. I enjoyed Side With The Seeds and my favorite new song live was probably Deeper Down. The low spot was Jesus, but that's never been a favorite of mine. Wilco (The Band) is great!
  2. Thank you. There's a CD cover shot for the next live album there. (no I haven't heard anything ) Great pics!
  3. Thank you for a great post, and great pics and a great blog.
  4. Passenger Side... you lucky bastards!
  5. Thanks very much for posting these pictures. My son & I had a great time at the picnic... I mean the show.
  6. I guess in general you're right. Whenever I visit SB I don't enjoy it as I used to. The Dave Matthews/Tim Reynolds show was a mess. Radiohead a few years ago was fantastic. I was in the back row and everybody was on their feet all night.
  7. Overall it is a "rather sit down & watch" crowd in Santa Barbara, but that doesn't make it good or bad. There were a few us of dancing on Handshake, you weren't the only white ass there, but perhaps you were Bottom line is the show was excellent and Wilco is one of the very few bands making music that matters. BTW, at the Pacific Amphitheatre during the Bob Dylan show, ushers came around telling people to sit. That was a first.
  8. Wonderful show. Wonderful evening. Classic Tweedy to make a snipe at the late arrivers and the "empty" front row. Glad I got to hear that. They're so pro that it didn't effect their performance, but it did get kicked up a notch when the stage was swarmed just prior to Too Far Apart. "It feels like we're playing a picnic," said Jeff. He obviously enjoyed it. We were 9th row on the right side of the audience and stood the entire show. I loved the Via Chicago/Spiders encore. The Lonely 1 and all the Sky Blue Sky songs were great. And if Handshake Drugs doesn't rock, nothing does.
