  1. I wish I had seen that. Fun IS good! Good is fun, too! Wilco combines the two quite nicely. They just make it all feel so good. FYI for next time (please let there be a next time) - we parked in someone's yard down the road and had no trouble getting out.

And Happy Anniversary! We just celebrated our 10th, too - the tin anniversary. The couple that rocks together stays together! :dancing :rock (That's actually a pretty good likeness of us rockin out, with me on the right.)

Happy Anniversary to you as well!! "The couple that rocks together stays together"....I like that. Very true.

  2. This was one of the best concerts I've ever been to, and yes...I have been to a TON of shows since the mid-'80s (old)! Thanks to everyone for celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary with my wife & I last night.

Nels amazes me more everytime I see him. Can't wait to see him with Mike Watt FOR FREE in Central Park on 8/1 when they open for M. Ward. That's gonna be good.

As far as last night goes, you've all said it already. My first "Bull Black Nova" last night; can't believe what a Monster it is live! Can't wait to see it again. Everything was great all the way around...except for the standstill in the parking lot afterwards. The "Far, Far Away" & "Too Far Apart" grouping was quite nice, and then onto "Handshake"....priceless. I really dig the Tour Program too. Fun Stuff.

Did anyone notice the trailer outside of the Stadium on the 1st base side that had "Fun Is Good" painted on it? Love it! We must all do it again one day!!

  3. I think it's playing when Karen confronts Henry after he stands her up - "who do you think you are, Frankie Valli or some bigshot?"

Ahh yes...when he says she looked like Liz Taylor. One of the greatest flicks of all time.

Anyway, do you hear it too in "I'll Fight"?. The, "I love him, I love him, I love him, and where he goes I'll follow, I'll follow, I'll follow....". Pretty damn similar if you ask me. Not just the repetitive quality, but the cadence as well.

  4. Thanks for the reply, gogo. Like I said, it's a bit of a wacky idea & I'm sure it's not a precedent they would want to set, but our 10th Anniversary is a one shot deal. No reason not to take a shot in the dark! Thanks again.

  5. I love this song, but I can't help thinking of the Little Peggy March song, "I Will Follow Him" everytime I hear it. Therefore it makes me think of Whoopi Goldberg too!

  6. I know that this sounds completely unrealistic and silly, but hey....You Never Know! Back in the day, bands used to have an address that you can send fan mail to or at least some way of possibly reaching them. Now in this Future Age, with all of this technology, it ironically seems like it's even harder to actually get a message, or in this case a question, to the band.

Here goes...my wife & I are travelling up from LI to Wappinger Falls on Saturday 7/18 for the show. Coincidentally it just happens to be our 10th Wedding Anniversary! I would be willing to pay the band to play a song to surprise my wife. Our wedding song is "True Love Ways" by Buddy Holly. Not only could they learn it in about 5 minutes, but it would be great to hear the band perform a new cover song anyway; especially a Buddy Holly tune.

I've been racking my brain for romantic ideas to surprise my wife with and this seems like a winner....I just wish there was a way to pull it off. I know it sounds crazy and it's probably a precedent the band wouldn't want to start, but hey, it's a business proposition. I just need to know the price and a way to get the request to them. Anyone have any feedback? No need to flame me too hard about this; I know it's a nutty idea, but you only live once. Might as well throw it out there.

    Cheers!
