Somewhere between 40 & 50 - I started losing count when I moved to Chicago from NYC in 1999. First show - 12/?/94 Mercury Lounge - NYC Good story behind this show - I go to a LOT of shows and consider myself very knowledgeable about music. My buddy's girlfriend's roommate suggested we go to see this band WILCO. I had never heard of them. I liked Uncle Tupelo, and had 2 of their CDs, but had no idea they had broken up and NO IDEA who Wilco was. So we go and I figure what the fuck, this will probably suck but I'll go anyway. I have to comment on how great the crowd was. No drunken chatter where I was sitting (5 rows back from the PTA section on the floor, right center...directly behind "Jerry" who requested "Spiders"). My wife also commented on how enjoyable it was that there was no idle chatter during the show. Probably had something to do with the ticket price, $100 must be for serious fans only.
