  1. This will be the most important music-related thing I will see this year, hands down. So much of my life was/is tied up with Jay's music.

At my daughter's Sweet 16 party we had a PA and I did a solo set and her brother did a set with his band, the Semi Legendary "Who Ya Burn".  :stunned . Anyway...I did "My Darling" and my whole family (including my mom and dad) were in tears. Hell, so was I! She was 'growing up too fast' - following my example haha - but I'm proud to say she's now a 29 year happily married mom, with the light of all of our lives being my grandson, Desmond Otto Rodriguez - aka "Crazy Otto".  :love

Thanks, Jay. You had a gift and a style that sucked me right in.

    Bee-utiful.

  2. Berman and Hunter (sigh)  agreed, though I bet they might be sardonically pleased in a way with the omission.

gotta admit, Grammys are appointment television for me every year- love the (over) production, the train wrecks (looking at you this year Aerosmith, karmas a sweet emotion), the fashion, collabs..haha all of the peacock pageantry.  and Alicia Keys once again, wow.

An aside: my daughter and friend busted their asses to get to the Anthem (in Washington) this past fall to see Billie. I gave her permission to call off from her job at the pizza shop. “Just tell them the truth”, I lied. First time she missed a shift. I’m thinking she made the right choice.

  3. Thank you so much for the excellent review and phenomenal shots, Tim. After a long Monday (not to mention last Thu/Fri) back in the trenches, your review really makes my day. And the additional photos at the end of the article are not to be missed. Most excellent!

  4. Sooooo

YLT soundcheck on main stage. Maybe 35-45 minutes staring with “”don’t cry no tears” by Neil Young. Autumn Sweater, too and much more. I asked Ira prior to “set” if I could take a few pics- he said yes, no video please, and said I was courteous for being a Philly fan (Phillies hat). There are exceptions to every rule- I responded and now I can stop going g to therapy.

  5. I see that Bob Weir (with Dead & Co) is playing not too far away in Cancun and their four day festival - Playing in the Sand - finishes on 20th Jan. That gives him some time to make it down to Sky Blue Sky for a song or two on the last night...too much to hope for?

Nope (not too much to hope for).

  6. Geez, it’s all so infuriating. Blatant lies and character suicides. Sometimes it’s all too much, but I believe this too shall pass, and am fervently optimistic that the kids (I.e. my 25 and 17 year old kids as an example) will initiate change for the better. Maybe naive, I’m betting on the future, because this shit has got to stop. F these walking diseased politicians..

    oh and happy holidays.

  7. I bought GA tickets this morning - this festival comes highly recommended from some friends who have gone every year.  $140 for both days is a steal for this type of festival and the terrific line up Shovels and Rope have assembled  - this Platinum Pearl package thing is really ridiculous, however... Have never been to Charleston - gonna make a full week of it and hit up Savannah as well!

    Well done, son.

  8. Am very new to this site, so bear with me if this is NOT the right place to post this.... I have purchased a Concert Courtyard Gold (whatever that means) double room, and am travelling solo (they don't sell single rooms, so if you go alone you are forced to pay for a second person whether you find a person or not!)  Anyway, just putting this out there:  I'm in charge of payment and the cost to add a roommate goes up next week.  If there's anyone out there looking to go, I have a room in one of the bldgs. that are on the side of the courtyard where Wilco will be playing, though not sure how close to the stage my room/balcony is.  The cost is pretty high, so I'm hoping someone will want to go but just has no one to share room with... I'm female by the way!

late response - contact the Skybluesky support team. You sound like you’ve booked- they can assist and even provide for late accommodations. I think there’s a escalating clause for name changes and such. Check the https://wilcoskybluesky.com/

    easy peasy.

  9. I’ve been enjoying the new record a lot, trying not to overplay it as I believe like any great music, the magic is rarely provided immediately. I thought the webcast painted the songs in a really interesting, groovy light.

I’m thankful for anything and everything that gets put out by these guys (including all projects)- thankful they are still releasing new material and thankful I’m around to enjoy it.

That being said, not unlike my children, of course I have favorites.
