  1. This argument doesn't work for a large chunk of Americans. It's just an easy, idealistic thing to spit out there when people complain about gas prices. Have you seen the size of this country on a map?

It's not an argument. It's a suggestion to those who can walk or ride sometimes.I see people around this small town drive 2 blocks from work to get a coffee when they could walk faster.I'm not suggesting everyone do it.

  2. Um ... why? Their mileage is inferior to many other vehicles the same size.

Buy one because you can sleep in it, pack it full of stuff instead of a truck..and because I think they are cool. Also, they never break down. I have 2 1996 Subies and have never done anything to them other than regular maint stuff. They last forever. That's why.And yes, they do get good gas mileage.Cars that last are better for this planet.I saw an orginal Subie on the road. That's why.Gee, why so down on my Subie comment.I didn't say you HAD to buy one or else.

  3. Gas is, and will be way toooo much from now on. The only solution is to produce and buy local. In America..the drive me all to hell country, is a bit tough. Want less and you will pay less. Grow a damn garden and drill a darn spring and you will save.Ride a frigginnnn bike 2 work, or walk. I chose to make less and become a massage therapist.I make my own oils and lotions and use very litttle but me own self generated power to make people happy.I do however live for ETSY..homegrown art and love, but not from China!Pick and choose your battles as well as your soaps.

  4. Dear Fathead,

I guess you won't be seeing this since you are't looking at this site anymore. But just in case, I am from Tulsa and have been to 2 Wilco concerts at Cains Ballroom and one Jeff Tweedy solo tour. I have also been to several Wilco concerts in KC, Wichita, Springfield Mo. as well as 2 in St. Louis.

I hate to tell you, anywhere there is alcohol served, there are going to be people who do stupid things. There is nothing more offensive to a sober person than a drunk. I personally go to a Wilco show to enjoy the music not kill brain cells or hear dog whistlers. Please don't come to Tulsa and bring your loving entourage with you. Us uncouth hicks enjoy concerts here for the music not the "firewater".

First of all, just because one drinks alcohol, that does not mean they are a drunk. There are many reasons to go to a concert, mainly to enjoy the music. Some do this by dancing, some by yelling or singing and apparently some go just to stand and stare. I was at the Lawrence show a week and a half ago and it was easily the worst crowd I have ever been a part of. No energy at all. During the encore even Tweedy said to the front row, "Don't worry there are only a couple of songs left." None of us on here own Wilco. Concerts are a public gathering, these are not private sessions. I suggest that if you want to enjoy Wilco without any distractions then you should just listen to them in your backyard on a CD player. This trend of sensitive concert goers is getting more troublesome with each show that I go to. All we do at the show is dance and sing along, but apparently that is too much enthusiasm for the multitude of people. So next time you see us at Wilco look for the person with tape over their mouth, arms folded wearing a straight jacket. Maybe then we won't offend your sensitive group. Wouldn't that make it exciting? I am sure Tweedy would enjoy his fans more if they were zombies.
