  1. from Pitchfork...

According to a spokeswoman, the title is derived from the same shortwave radio recording that originally inspired Wilco to call their album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, as well as the phrase "WTF". Though they also admitted the Lagunitas owner "has probably heard Wilco." Wilco, however, seem to think the beer is named after them.

The Lagunitas spokesperson and owner are both lying and must believe we are all idiots . This beer that they put out was 100% named after Wilco (the band). If they had truly followed the ICAO alphabet/NATO phonetic alphabet, which assigns code words to the English alphabet, the name of the beer would have been "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot".

For Pitchfork to claim that the band the band 'seems to think 'the beer is named after them' is also idiotic and shows just how little these people running that organization really know. Isn't it about time they went out of business? Pitchfork please just go away.

And finally, I had a chance to drink one of these 22oz bottles of ale the other night. Yuck. I have nothing against hoppy, high alcohol beers, but this beer made me wince like I was taking a shot of cheap tequila with every swallow. I will go for a Dogfish Head 90 or 120 way before suffering through another one of these Lagunitas beers.

  2. The Wellmont is a cavernous concrete building with a less than mediocre PA (to be specific a Claire Brother's Cat system line array). I did not make it to last nights Wilco show, but I have seem 3 or 4 other shows at this venue. The one thing they all had in common was crappy sound. This venue would greatly benefit from a PA upgrade and some work on the room to relieve the boomy acoustics. Wilco's sound crew does a great job, but The Wellmont usually wins.

  3. Before the 'Ship of Lights' or Tubaloon ...

Suddenly, the mysterious lights appear, disappear and then appear behind them in advance of the mysterious ship. The shuttle loses power and they lose consciousness. On the mysterious ship, Starbuck, in an all-white uniform is surrounded by beings that communicate via telepathy. He is told that they are in another dimension. Sheba appears, also dressed in white. She thinks they're dead. Starbuck asks the beings if they are angels and he is told that some of what they think is correct.

  8. They covered In The Street with Jody Stephens on drums, and John and Pat doing their best combined Chris Bell on lead vocals. I don't think I've ever been so surprised at a Wilco show. It was amazing!

It is great to see that the band can still surprise - even though it is few and far between.

  11. This is frustrating...it's the day of the official release and still a blank page for the audio tracks.

boo hoo - quit your wining. you sound like a fool. it will be up soon enough. after everything thing this band gives us you really feel you should be bitching about when you get your free tracks. you do not deserve to use the name clint eastwood - maybe you should change it to the french term for 'showering'.... douche !
