Does anyone know of a website similar to www.instantrimshot.com, except featuring a laugh track? I've found sound effect libraries, but I'm looking for something that's instant, and doesn't need to be downloaded. This is a stupid question, and I apologize. But help is appreciated.

I LOVE how "Via Chicago" begins. I was listening to Summerteeth while driving a good friend home the other day, and VC started playing, and after hearing "I dreamed about killing you again last night / and it felt alright with me" my friend told me she thought that was an excellent opening. Coming from a HUGE poetry fan, I accepted that compliment on Jeff's behalf.

And I've always been a huge fan of the intro to "Romance In Durango," a lesser known Dylan song. The imagery is INTENSE. "Hot chili peppers in the blistering sun / me and Magdelena on the run." Such a vivid opening to the song, which has a very central American getaway vibe to it.

According to the Frenz board the Wilco guys are rumoured to be staying on in NZ for an extra week or so to 'work on their latest album' in Neil Finn's studio. As someone on the board pointed out, this would be possible given that Jeff's solo dates in the US don't kick off until Jan 29 (although the question was asked whether Jeff, Glenn, John and Pat would work on material in the absence of Nels and Jorgensen).

 

Someone on the Frenz board is a neighbour of Pat Sansone's mom and she apparently confirmed the rumour.

If the rumor of the album being more of a "soundscaped" thing, then I don't see why they couldn't work on it without all band members present. After all, that means it is NOT a "live" record.

When I first saw news of this new music, I immediately began crossing my fingers for the man to tour. According to this website, fans can "listen to music, watch videos, and BUY CONCERT TICKETS"

A multiple night stand at the National would be GLORIOUS. Especially as I live a mile down the road. But the National is a terrific venue in my opinion, soundwise and space wise. It's relatively large, but it has a club feel. I think Wilco could draw a decent enough crowd for at least one show there. Make it happen guys!

And should their tour bus/hotel plans suddenly collapse on them, I know of a VCU freshman art student (*cough*) who would GLADLY donate a dorm room to the band. *cough, cough*

So, a recent glance at Spencer Tweedy's blog (which, I must add, is INCREDIBLY well-written for such a young guy. Kudos to Jeff and Sue!) mentioned channukah, so I was wondering which Tweedy parent is Jewish? I'd never seen anything written about Jeff being Jewish, so I would assume Mrs. Tweedy. Anyone know?

Most Unknown/Underrated Song Ever?? Hyperbole aside is it possibly because its been played live a few times and hasnt been recorded?

Exactly. How can a song be underrated if it technically hasn't been released? When only a small percentage of the fanbase has been given a chance to react to it, how can you call it over/underrated at all?

So, how do you think the band would have progressed had Jay not left the band. This has probably been discussed, but listening to the past two Wilco albums, as well as Jay's past two solo albums, it kind of made me wonder. Would the records have even sounded the same? And obviously the lineup would be different, and (sadly) might not include Nels. So...any thoughts?

And for the record, Jay's latest solo album is quite splendid.

Listening to it reminded me of the whole "Box Full Of Letters" dedication. Is there anything behind "Reed/Read/Reid" (however its spelled) or is it just a friend of the band?

Eagerly awaiting a recording of this show, as it was probably the best concert I've ever seen. Such a well-constructed setlist, both in terms of content and pacing/order. IATTBYH----->Spiders was the epitome of face-melting. And meeting Nels after the show was a pretty great end to the evening. Such a nice guy.

I got a chance to talk to Nels after the Baltimore show tonight, and I told him that they/he need to come to Richmond. So the suggestion has been forwarded!

Yea, I figured as such. And I'd much rather my "meeting wilco" moment occur when the guys aren't busy unloading junk/getting ready for a show. So I'll give it a shot after the show. Safe to assume they're nice guys when it comes to fans?

Regardless, I'm pretty excited to see them tomorrow for the first time. They seem to hit the DC/MD area a lot, but something kept preventing me from seeing them until now, when I jumped on this show as a two weeks delayed birthday present. Here's hoping for a crazy good setlist!

What about before the show? I realize this is a far more stressful time for a band, but just in general what's a good rule of thumb for when the tourbus arrives at the venue?
