  1. I guess everyone forgot about the whole Dexter vs. Quinn storyline.

Quinn thinks Dexter is a player and a bit of a sketch and they haven't been the best of friends. This could be reverting back to a season 1 and 2 plotline, but taken in different directions.

  2. NBC hired Leno, NBC Hired Conan, NBC fires Leno to keep Conan, NBC forces Conan to quit to keep Leno.

Leno is only doing what anyone else would, LOOK FOR A JOB. Sure he's not the funniest cat in town, but you just don't turn it down when you never wanted to leave it in the first place. No doubt there's going to be an asteriks by Leno's name as the Tonight Show host now.

Conan ended gracefully and with class (kinda)....he's a freebird now, free to fly to FX or Fox or wherever he goes.

  3. In the world of TV isn't it the peoples decision to keep a show on? Was Conan's demise the fan's fault? I love Conan to death, but I never got around to watching him, so it's in part my fault and every fan's fault for not tuning in.

NBC did make a bad move in letting Leno do another monologue before his show. I guess the cards weren't dealt for Conan in the correct fashion

  4. I saw them at ACL not too long ago. It was one of the greatest concert experiences ever, because the crowd just gets into it, and the band members are always changing instruments. It was pretty intense. The only reason I saw them was because I managed to sneak in to the front after Arctic Monkeys played. It was either that or walk to the other side and be in the back to watch Muse.

  5. If Leno does take the job it's gonna look terrible. I honestly believe Conan and Jay are puppets though and NBC is simple trying to go with what works. It isn't fair to Conan though because 7 months isn't enough time to get his mojo working in a new time slot. I still don't think it's fair to anyone at this point.

Conan isn't going to take a later time slot and I don't blame him, and if Leno takes his old time slot back it's going to look really bad.

This could all be just one big drama cooked up by NBC to boost ratings for Conan. I mean the only reason Conan has the tonight show is because it was fear that he would move to another network back in 04, so NBC promised Conan he would wait five years to get the job ultimately firing Leno, or making him retire, right???

Conan is a lot funnier than Leno, but for some reason his ratings just aren't up to par. Nothing beats his old time baseball skit back on Late Night

  6. Nevertheless, it's sad to see great musicians leave early. Missed him in Austin last December. I was just hoping they'd have put Jay Bennett up on the home screen, because I think Bennett, Glenn, Stiratt, and Tweedy were a force to be reckoned with.

Running out of Jays I see

  7. so I found out about his death by going to spoontheband.com

I'm pretty sure the last band he played with was spoon, and it's great to see that they recognized it on their homepage. This brings me back to when Jay Bennett passed, and I kinda wished Wilco would have given him more than he actually got. Maybe I missed it, i dunno.

  8. we bought the 5 day Chicago Go Card and It is worth it, but it is really hard to do everything that they offer, since everything is so spaced out across Chicago. I had an amazing time and hope to go back sometime in March or April.

There is really so much to do in Chicago and the food is crazy!!!!!!

    Chicago

here are some of my pics if ya wanna take a gander.

oh yeah we got the 7 day CTA pass and it's so worth the 23 dollars if you plan on using it as your main mode for getting around. Nothing beats the CTA and a walking around in a mysterious big city.

  9. If we're going to compare, this isn't new spoon or old spoon. It's right in the middle, equilibrium.

Trouble Comes Running is going to be and was great live, but now that the studio versions are out they should be able to add a little more oomph to the sound even when Britt uses his pipes more during a live set.

I can describe it as a polished old spoon, never forgetting the garage sound they once carried

  10. I'MMA MAKE MY OWN WILCO CALENDAR!!! It'll be one of those ones where each day has a page ... and a quote from a Wilco song!!!

January 1: I dreamed about killing you again last night!

January 2: Why would you wanna live...?

January 3: Every moment's a little bit later

January 4: You have to learn to die before you want to want to be alive

  11. Yeah, we're going to be really busy...It's a road trip!!! 13th-22nd of December

Leaving Austin at midnight traveling through Oklahoma seeing some cooky Route 66 sites. Spending the night in St. Louis and arriving in Chicago the next day, which would be the 14th, but right after stopping in Springfield and some smaller cities for some quirky sites. Perfect timing considering Jeff Tweedy will be up and running around the Second City I believe.

The meat of the trip is Chicago and we're both super excited about it. We purchased a 5-day Chicago Go Card which is pretty pricey running us about 150 each, but we plan to use right down to the bone. I wish I knew about the Blackhawks playing the Red Wings because that's my favorite team and I really wanted to see them play!! sorry Chicago!!

Any interesting shows going on in that time frame off the top of your head that a Wilco fan might enjoy?
