  1. turns out presale tickets are the same, or so that's what forum members are sayin'. My ticket says GA2 under row/box and seat 92. I'm not sure what that means, if anything, but I thought it was General Admission all around? hmmm, well I'm coming from Austin and you can bet yo behind I'm aiming for front row and center. Also seeing them in Cedar Park, which probably is one of the weirdest places Wilco could play. I think it doesn't fit their style, but ah well.

  2. John Stirratt still gets to play "It's just that Simple" live. I know he played it on the last show I was at which was a year ago. It's a nice song, I think, and was just wondering if they include it.

I also wonder if this is just another reason on how Wilco wanted to follow the exact formula of Uncle Tupelo, and maybe, just maybe, if Jay Bennett had not joined, we would have seen more of a Jeff Tweedy / John Stirratt combination.

  3. Haha i was kinda wondering about that too and was afraid to put up a post about it. Seems you're a bit worried as I am. I got my Oct 8th tickets, but haven't got my 9th. I thought that was strange because I bought them on the same wilco presale site.

hmmmmm, if we don't have them by next Thursday we should really worry. haha....

  4. I never knew "Being There" was hard to come by in record stores. I've seen it dozens of times in lots of record stores over many years.

you wouldn't mind pickin' up a copy for me then...haha, seriously, you're lucky. I have to wait till late October for a reissue, or try and find one at the Austin Record Convention next week.

  5. I can't wait to purchase mine at waterlooooo tomorrow.

I'm still waitin' for Being There which I'm sure is on everyone's "hurry up and get it pressed" list or should be at least. That's my favorite Wilco album and I needs to have it!!!!!!!

  6. haha I'm pretty sure he does it because it's just fun to do and it doesn't necessarily mean he possesses Rock God status, but the fact that he's just puttin' on a show. The only one that seems to not have fun is Nels, but hey, he's too busy hitting those notes, so I won't complain. I was entertained when they pulled this stunt at the show I went to on mothers day of last year in Austin. Seems to be another unique live stunt like Via Chicago and Misunderstood.

  7. Just looking at those setlists is kinda a bummer. Looks like a bunch of singles to me. I'm going to the DALLAS show and I'm sure it's going to look like that. I wish they'd touch the older material for Texas shows and finish with AGIB rock, however we don't live in a perfect world now do we.

It's funny because when I'm there in person, it doesn't matter what they play, just as long as I get to see them do what they do best, JAM! I want to seeeeeeeeeeeeee the JAM session in between songs...hmmm

  8. TX dates will probably be supported by local bands....I'm still bitter about Wilco not taking the extra time to make it down to Austin and not Cedar Park. Must've made them an offer they couldn't refuse.

It would be nice to see Spoon open for Wilco in WilCO

  9. I was absolutely blown away by them opening with "Via Chicago" in LA, night #2.

When I saw them, they walked out onto the Stubbs Amphitheater, with a Jeff Tweeedy delaying. He finally crossed the stage wearing his Harmonica contraption choosing to start the night off with "Sunken Treasure".

They closed the night ending with Hoodoo Voodoo

  10. That's especially odd because just yesterday Nonesuch put this out:

    http://nonesuch.com/journal/wilco-tops-adult-rock-chart-nonesuch-to-reissue-first-three-albums-on-vinyl-2009-08-06

"With the spotlight shining on Wilco's catalog, Nonesuch is very happy to announce the first-ever vinyl reissue of the band's first three albums: A.M., Being There, and Summerteeth. Starting with the release of the most recent of the three, 1999's Summerteeth, on August 25, the records will be released one per month, next heading back to the beginning, with 1995's A.M., out on September 29, and finishing with the double album Being There in late October.

Each of the records is being pressed on 180-gram, high-performance 12" vinyl and includes the album on CD. Nonesuch Store purchases include free, instant MP3 downloads of the album from the release date as well.

To pre-order your copies of the forthcoming vinyl reissues in the Nonesuch Store, visit nonesuch.com/store/wilco."

awesome! I ordered Being There not too long ago from Waterloo in Austin, and they told me they couldn't get it for me... :(

  11. Cedar Park(NOT AUSTIN) tickets pre-sale happening on August 5th @ 10 a.m

oops...did I spill the beans to the ones that would've never looked at the show page?!!? eh

so disappointed that Wilco isn't coming to Austin...oh well, I'll see you in Cedar park(NOT AUSTIN) and Dallas!! w00t w00t

  12. Where can I buy Austin tickets from? I see a link to purchase them for the Dallas one, but nothing to Austin. Plan to attend both.

me too! saweet! I really wish they'd just play another two gig"er" in Austin. I regret not going both days last year...I'm trying to make it up this time around

oh yeah, they're not on sale yet, so keep with the eagle eye, I'm sure it'll pop up soon

  13. what about trying to pairing up the albums...haha lets waste time and see what albums would pair up the best, or better yet compliment each other. Similar to mustard and ketchup, what albums would go well together? FAIL? you decide!
