I hope the vinyl is a cool gatefold kind of thing... I usually associate that with 2LP's though. Anyone heard anything on that?

Not that we can see it in the photo, but the font does match the sign in the background, Mader's. I only know this being from Milwaukee. Anyway, Mader's is very popular old-time German restaurant. Impossibly German, even. (*ducks*)

I will say that the cake was EXTREMELY HEAVY. Autumn's staff had to give me a "cake break" every 10 minutes or so when I wasn't being shot, just so I could get the feeling back in my arms. I wonder if it was even real, or just an anvil covered in orange frosting.

I also really love that the picture seems like it may have been taken in Europe, but that's definitely Milwaukee. I love my hometown.

I held that birthday cake for the fanshoot @ Pabst Theater. Pretty neat that it made the cover.

We actually took it from the Dr. Seuss book "Oh, The Places You'll Go!". Towards the end, across two pages, is the phrase "Kid, you'll move mountains!". As for Manitoba, our bassist actually made contact with Dan Snaith to ensure we weren't stepping on his toes. He said that he got it from the book too, so he was totally OK with it. Very nice guy.

It was seperate from the band/camel shoot. Jeff had informed the audience I guess at their 4/14 show in Milwaukee to come back to the venue at 5pm the next day for a shoot. I hadn't gone to that show (I went the next day) but I did see it on the Wilco website, so my fiance and I went. Jeff, Glenn and John made a brief appearance, walking from the venue to their bus. But this shoot was all fans (and some of their pets).

Thanks for the welcome! Yeah, it was definitely stated more than a few times that nothing was definite. Maybe they've scrapped it all, who knows! Just being in the presence of someone like Autumn and having her pick me out of a line-up was pretty crazy. And for my favorite band, no less. I think when the disc is released, even if nothing from the fan shoot is used, I'd be happy to give a beat by beat of what it was like. Even just for a cool Wilco-related story. But if anyone has any random questions, I'd he happy to answer them as best I can! Thanks again. -jim
