Came here for Wilco news, stayed for the banter.
-
Bought the vinyl but haven't dropped the needle yet.
LouieB
it's some pretty vinyl, eh?

Like this
and this one where he name drops a certain band
he's such a lunatic. lucky he writes incredible songs.
as for the new album-- i like it more and more with each listen. can't wait to see him in boston!
-
A whole bunch of new dates! Including 10/28-29 in NY!
-
Already enjoying it more than Ashes & Fire, which I like okay. My only wish was that there were a few more acoustic numbers like My Wrecking Ball...
edit: DRA must've been listening to a lot of Tom Petty before writing these tunes.

The whole album is streaming on iTunes radio... It's awesome.

Yeah, Kung Fu was a little delayed on last Monday's download as well. I Hope we get it tomorrow.
Flowering is up on Kung Fu for those who preordered.

Most of those links are dead. If anyone's itching to upload the Stockholm Sessions, I certainly wouldn't hold it against you.
I just got Boston tickets. That was one of the more miserable ticket buying experiences for me. I usually luck out, but not this time. I'll be in the back of the floor. It's gross how many tickets immediately surfaced on StubHub. -
Hey all,
If anyone has two in the pit (AA-GG) or the first part of the orchestra section, please let me know! I'm trying to avoid Stubhub!
Thanks! -
New tour dates announced this morning, including Boston on 11/18!
-
Seems like tickets for Northampton went on sale before the scheduled 10am. Only one lone ticket on the floor left as of 9:50AM.
We can knock Ticketmaster for their ridiculous fees, but at least they are consistent with on sale times...
-
I'm really enjoying this.
-
Pulled two in the 4th row for Boston. No pit tickets in Northampton by the time I finished checking out... Will try during the public on sale!
-
New Tweedy dates in Athens, Philly, Ithaca, Boston, Northampton, Portland, & Burlington.
Pre-sale this Wed., August 6 at 10am ET. On sale Fri., August 8 at 10am ET. -
This one was posted on the NFF instagram. Too good not to repost here:

Anyway, here's what I came up with for the setlist for the Watkins Family Hour show:
Wow. Thanks, Bbop! I think you've inspired me to start bringing a pen & paper to shows. Not Wilco shows though, that's your territory.
-
Thanks! Love that the "setlist" was just the list of performers...haha.
I have it all scrawled down, basically, but it was dark in there so it'll take a little time to decipher it all. Should have it posted by tomorrow. Who was the guy playing piano? Was that the guy from Milk Carton Kids?
We couldn't figure out who he was! I don't think he plays with MCK, but I could be wrong.

From Facebook:

Bbop, I'd definitely be interested in the setlist, if you're able to piece it together!
If it's at all helpful, I was able to grab 1/2 of the on-stage lineup that Sara and Sean had, and got a photo of the other half.
Hour one: http://imgur.com/VIMEs8e
Hour two: http://imgur.com/c3B1dYNI should say that Langhorne Slim was a real highlight for me. I wasn't all that familiar with him and was really fond of the two solo songs he played. Also Tom Brosseau. My god, what a voice.
The evening was really special for my girlfriend, who has been a Nickel Creek fan for years. As you mentioned, unless you're in LA, you wouldn't otherwise get to experience The Watkins Family Hour. I've see NC and also Sara play solo w/ Sean, and have to say that I found the Watkins' playing last night to be even more enjoyable than any of the other times I've seen them. It must help to have an arsenal of friends/ fellow musicians waiting to come on stage! -
All in all a good day at Newport Folk! Mavis joining in on Jeff's set was really special.
The highlight of the day, for me anyway, was definitely The Watkins Family Hour show after the festival. It's hard to express how cool this show was. The best I can do might be to list off the artists who played: Sara and Sean Watkins (Nickel Creek), Willie Watson (Old Crow Medicine Show), Chris Funk (The Decemberists), Kenneth Pattengale (The Milk Carton Kids), Langhorne Slim, John C. Reilly, Tom Brosseau, Hurray For The Riff Raff, Aoife O’Donovan, and Pokey LaFarge. I'm sure I missed some!

Edited to add:
Just upped on Dime and Etree:Edited the setlist at the top of the page. I'm proud I got 'em all right; just butchered the order! Thanks for the recording!

There was no opening act tonight. The band took the stage at about 10 after 8 and played for two hours. My girlfriend was lucky enough to snag a setlist from the stage. It reads as follows:

RA retweeted someone who posted the setlist:

Nothing like spending $7 to ship a $6 record. I shouldn't really complain though, I'm happy to have been able to purchase one.
Here's to hoping RA adds a Boston date to that fall tour.

I saw Spencer tweet a picture of this today and figured it was a RSD release, for some reason. Thanks for the heads up! I was able to put one on hold for this weekend.
