  1. Surprised that we (or at least I) haven't heard from the Tweedy management folks about this yet. Or maybe we have and I missed it. Anyway, a cool incentive to get out to your local independent record shop for all you completists...

I saw Spencer tweet a picture of this today and figured it was a RSD release, for some reason. Thanks for the heads up! I was able to put one on hold for this weekend.

  2. Most of those links are dead. If anyone's itching to upload the Stockholm Sessions, I certainly wouldn't hold it against you.

I just got Boston tickets. That was one of the more miserable ticket buying experiences for me. I usually luck out, but not this time. I'll be in the back of the floor. It's gross how many tickets immediately surfaced on StubHub.

  3. Thanks! Love that the "setlist" was just the list of performers...haha.

I have it all scrawled down, basically, but it was dark in there so it'll take a little time to decipher it all. Should have it posted by tomorrow. Who was the guy playing piano? Was that the guy from Milk Carton Kids?

We couldn't figure out who he was! I don't think he plays with MCK, but I could be wrong.

  4. Bbop, I'd definitely be interested in the setlist, if you're able to piece it together!

If it's at all helpful, I was able to grab 1/2 of the on-stage lineup that Sara and Sean had, and got a photo of the other half.

I should say that Langhorne Slim was a real highlight for me. I wasn't all that familiar with him and was really fond of the two solo songs he played. Also Tom Brosseau. My god, what a voice.

The evening was really special for my girlfriend, who has been a Nickel Creek fan for years. As you mentioned, unless you're in LA, you wouldn't otherwise get to experience The Watkins Family Hour. I've see NC and also Sara play solo w/ Sean, and have to say that I found the Watkins' playing last night to be even more enjoyable than any of the other times I've seen them. It must help to have an arsenal of friends/ fellow musicians waiting to come on stage!

  5. All in all a good day at Newport Folk! Mavis joining in on Jeff's set was really special.

The highlight of the day, for me anyway, was definitely The Watkins Family Hour show after the festival. It's hard to express how cool this show was. The best I can do might be to list off the artists who played: Sara and Sean Watkins (Nickel Creek), Willie Watson (Old Crow Medicine Show), Chris Funk (The Decemberists),  Kenneth Pattengale (The Milk Carton Kids), Langhorne Slim, John C. Reilly, Tom Brosseau, Hurray For The Riff Raff, Aoife O’Donovan, and Pokey LaFarge. I'm sure I missed some!

  6. There was no opening act tonight. The band took the stage at about 10 after 8 and played for two hours. My girlfriend was lucky enough to snag a setlist from the stage. It reads as follows:

    Low Key

    Slow Love

    Hummingbird
    New Madrid
