  1. It was Memory Almost Full.
  2. It's hard to find street parking in this part of town on summer Friday nights. There is a parking garage for the ferry terminal right there and other garages are nearby. I think it's about $1/hr.
  3. The thread has kind of moved on from this point, however, I have heard Bob Ludwig address this very issue. I once saw him speak about a McCartney album he mastered. Paul wanted it to be compressed almost to the point of distortion, so that's what he got. Obviously, Bob could have done it differently if Paul wanted it another way. Based on those comments, I assume that Wilco wanted the CD to sound as it does.
  4. Yes, you would think that especially if you saw the scene in Ashes of American Flags where they are icing all their strained and swollen body parts.
  5. Our local music store, Bull Moose, just announced that Nels Cline will sign autographs at their Portland (Maine) store this Friday at 12:30. Pretty exciting.
  6. I'll Fight gave me shivers the first time I heard it. I thought it was a love song at first. I was blown away halfway through when I realized the narrator isn't singing to a lover or parent, but to his rich patron. I thought the singer might have been a slave. I took the "cross" reference as a visual image and didn't put a political spin on it. I see it's there after reading this thread. One of the things I love about Wilco is that surprise me all the time. This song was one of the biggest fun surprises on the album for me.
