  1. I was thinking about the Friday night Wilco show the the other day and here's what I think they'll do. They have enough music from Alpha Mike Foxtrot and other B sides that they could do an entire show. I'd really like to see that because I've seen them several times since it's come out hoping to get anything off that played live and haven't heard a thing. I'd love to hear The TB is Whipping Me live.

  2. I honestly don't think we'll get a second covers night. I can hope all I want but I don't think that would happen. I don't think that Friday will be anything that they've done before either. I guess that's what makes this part so exciting. We now know it's happening but we don't know what we'll get. This is my first time going so I'll take what I get and like it and the only thing I can base things off of is what's been done before. If they do a whole album approach I hope it's more than one because while Being There is probably my personal favorite I'd be disappointed if that's all there was because that would be a short Friday night compared to other Wilco shows I've seen. Let's at least double up on releases if they do entire albums.

  3. Thanks for the info on Williamstown / Hancock! I appreciate it.

I'd LOVE to see a covers night in person. I know some people bellyached about it the first time around but in all honesty that would have been mindblowing to see. We'll all see Wilco do a regular set several more times in our lifetimes. All covers would have been insane. I was wondering about the Friday night set as well and was thinking all UT songs would be awesome. Guest sit ins would be cool too but it's hard to get excited about that not knowing who else is going to be there.

  4. My wife and I will be staying outside of town as well for this one. How is traffic coming into and leaving the site each day? We're flying into Boston the day it starts and I'm sure we'll go to wherever we're staying first. I just want to make sure I don't miss anything.

  5. Mass MoCA just shared a post from Dinosaur Jr extolling the virtues of the Berkshires and western Mass. And at one of the past Solid Sounds--maybe 2013?--J Mascis was seen walking around the festival grounds.

I'd take either a J Mascis solo show or Dinosaur Jr. gladly...I've heard of but never heard Courtney Barnett. I'll have to fix that.

  6. I've looked a few pages deep and didn't see anyone else asking about this. Forgive me if it's a part of another thread.

Who do you think / hope will be a part of Solid Sound 2017 other than Wilco and their side projects? There are a few I'd love to see but don't think it's realistic. I have no real predictions but my wish list would include

Rev. Horton Heat - would be fun to see them in this setting

The Lees of Memory - kind of shoegaze but I think they'd be well recieved

Lord Huron - way too big now but it would still be great if it happened

Yo La Tengo - I know they've already played it man...I'd love for that to happen

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats - I stumbled into one of their shows by chance and they blew my doors off.

This will be the first time I'm able to make the trip so I can't wait to hear an official announcement / lineup.

  7. This will be the first SS my wife and I will be able to attend. It's driving me crazy that no info has been announced yet even though it's still a year away. We are in a strange spot financially right now where we could actually put a deposit down on a place to stay while in town if we knew the dates! Regardless, it's exciting to think I'll finally be able to make one this time.

  8. I've seen that lots of people actually get to meet them but never know how they do it. On the street? Outside by the tour bus? Hang out at the stage after the show? What is the most common way? I'm traveling by myself from Raleigh up to the Roanoke show in a few weeks and have 2nd row and would love to get the poster I'm going to get signed. No idea how to go about it though...

  9. Sorry about the Richmond show confusion. I work in IT and support offices at multiple locations in VA and NC. We have offices in Richmond and Roanoke and I mix them up all the time. Hopefully when I travel to Roanoke to see the show I won't mistakenly head to Richmond. If my tickets ever arrive. They're currently lost and the USPS is looking for them. Crowdsurge said not to worry if they don't make it though. They'll hold a spare at will call if needed. Again, sorry for the Richmond / Roanoke thing if I got anyone's hopes up. I'm a dumbass.

  10. It did turn out to be Crowdsurge. I emailed them and within 30 minutes I had what I was looking for. Getting the ticket was crazy that day but the customer service I got today was beyond expectation. I award them 10 points to Griffindor.

  11. I thought it may have been but when I log on there I don't have any orders. I took a screenshot of my order number when I placed the order...but it didn't include any info other than seat location and order number. They say the tickets will be mailed within two weeks of the show so I guess I've got some time to sweat it out.

  12. I can post a pic, no problem. It'll probably be this weekend though as I'm going to a show tonight. Tomorrow or Saturday. There's a photo or two and a shot of the back of the kitty on the front cover, looking the other way. Good stuff. One thing I noticed was the sleeve where you put the booklet and the cd has the same image inside it as you see on the outside. Sort of hard to explain but inside the sleeve is a photo as well. Took me a bit to figure out what it was.

  13. Has anyone ordered / received already Star Wars from their website? I got mine in yesterday after I forgot I had ordered it. If you did, it should arrive any day now. I know some don't care for Kung Fu but they've always got stuff to me early. Their shipping cost seems to be a major sticking point for most. Eh, if I didn't want it I wouldn't order it. They usually draw me a dinosaur on my bill if I ask nicely too. So I've got that going for me.

  14. Pleasantly surprised it was on Spotify here. I'll buy the (I'm assuming) deluxe version when it comes out for sure but I'm glad I can listen to it now on Spotify now.

  15. So when I found out about this I was putting one of my kids to bed. She has me lay next to her for about 10 minutes as she falls asleep...As I'm laying there I find out about this. How do you keep your cool, trying to get a 6 year old to bed, and just wanting to run downstairs and crack open a beer and listen to a surprise Wilco release? I giggled when I saw the kitty on the front with the Star Wars title...but she didn't wake up. It was an awesome evening. After the kid(s) were asleep.

  16. I got my hands on my copy. It's a really nice book. Similar in size to a hardback text book from high school. It was really cool going through and seeing how many of them I have and also seeing all the ones I've never seen before. The Knoxville 2014 one is really nice.

A side note: It looks like the original package I was sent was stolen from my doorstep so I contacted Kung Fu. They said they'd send a replacement out right away and if the original one ever turned up I could just mail it back. I told them I work about a mile from their street address and I could just bring it by if that worked out better for them. They said no problem and if I wanted to I could come by the office and pick up the replacement and they'd refund the shipping. They said they normally don't offer that unless it was slow. I took them up on the offer. They were really great, I was in and out in no time. Very nondescript. I'd have never known it was there.
