  1. Yep that's it. IF you ever have any opportunity to try one out, I highly recommend it. I can't stop playing it. I think this is my favorite amp I have ever owned. I have had Mesa, Peavey tube amps, fenders and a bunch more and I like this one the best. The low wattage is key. It still fucking screams, believe me.
  2. Sagely words Ghost..Lately I have just been playing it straight with no other effects at all just to see what she can do. It really is an incredibly versatile amp and I am really enjoying the way it naturally breaks up without my OCD pedal. I will do some more experimenting and see any of my asshole friends have a reverb pedal. Usually they are coming to me to borrow my stuff, and rarely do they have anything that I want or need!
  3. Hey Guys, I recently bought a Vox Night Train 15 W all tube amp head and it simply smokes! I love everything about it and I cannot believe how loud 15 watts can get. The only complaint that I have is that it does not have any onboard reverb, nor does it have an effects loop. Everything I have ever read says that reverb pedals sound like shit without an FX loop. Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated..thanks!
  4. here is a video of my cousin and myself ( I am on the left) during a rehearsal..enjoy! Daniel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvNbNN75zk8
  5. Oh yeah, have any of you guys ever tried out a BBE Sonic Maximizer? Sounds like a very cool thing but I have never seen one in use...
  6. I def am not trying to mimic Jim James' rig..In fact I sold the MESA head (regretfully, but you know how it goes, I needed the money)..I bought a Peavey Valveking, all tube 100W head for 250 bucks..and it is really incredible..Especially for the money.
  7. Well, on my most recent album, we decided to use software drums rather than have to deal with the drama associated with a real drummer. And all the headache that comes with trying to record drums. My last drummer was incredibly talented, but his wife just had his third baby in three years and I think he is going to have to sell his drums for Huggies. It is incredibly satisfying to play with a good band, but incredibly frustrating when you invest years of time with people to have them bail out on you. It is so hard to find people who are 100% commited to playing gigs for little to no mone
  8. OK here is the geeky part..I have a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Tremoverb 100 W amp head with a 2x12 Recto cabinet (Celestian Vintage 30s) which is, coincidently, exactly the same rig that Jim James from My Morning Jacket uses. I'm not sure how many of you guys are familiar with this amp, but it basically has a great sounding setting called "Vintage High Gain" that is perfect for some bluesy, classic rock tones; it is very versatile. Anyway, to make a long story short, I am looking for suggestions for an OD or Gain pedal that will just push it up a notch for solos and such. The amp sounds
  9. Aww I will be in Atlanta that week...hopefully next time.. Lets book a gig together sometime! I can open for you or whatever you want but it would be great to do before the summer is over!
  10. Hey Breezy, Right now, I am using a Mackie PA system with Powered speakers..they are not too heavy (about 40lbs each) considering they have the amplifiers built in, and they aren't ridiculously expensive . However, they sound FREAKING INCREDIBLE. I am constantly getting comments from people about how great they sound. Mackie powered speakers Here's the way I look at it; your audience is only going to think that you are as good as you sound thru your PA system. Nothing boosts your confidence better than knowing you are playing behind a great sounding system. You pretty much get w
  11. Thanks a million Todd for writing the review! I really do appreciate it. Now where can I find a gang of teenagers to promote my music to all their uncool friends?
  12. Cool thanks! I am glad you like Monsoon Season; that song is very important to me for a number of reasons. I know the album is very mellow but it is a tribute album to a family member who passed away. Thanks for taking the time to listen to the tracks!

I have been really enjoying Chicken on a Bicycle as well and I will be writing a full review of it for you soon. Is there anyone else out there that would like to trade a cd with me? It has been a great experience so far, trading with Todd and hearing some cool new music that I would have other wise never heard.

  17. The basics: Im just about 33 years old from the Chicago area, been playing guitar for 20 years and writing songs for about 15. I have been carefully following Wilco's every move since Being There came out. The highlight so far: an acoustic Tweedy set in Kalamazoo MI in 2008 that was really intimate and incredible. someone come on and say hello and introduce yourself to me! I know there are some people here that I can consider my "peers"! Dont make me sound desperate here!
  18. Hey Guys, I am relatively new here, so I know that means a few things: a) I must be a complete moron and a hack musician since I only have 5 posts on this forum most of the regulars are going to immediately attack me because I am the new kid on the block c) I hope I am wrong about all of these things I started a thread a few weeks ago in the "Someone elses song" section and I was immediately attacked for "Street teaming" my music, which is a term that I really don't understand. I can assure you, that is not my intention here. I would love to be a productive member of your forum co
