  1. That's what I figured too, but I just want to verify this so I can let Rob know whether or not he should change it.

Guess I should have checked the DVD...

Yep, Red-Eyed & Blue comes before I Got You.

  2. Hello everyone...

It's been awhile since I've been around here, so an introduction may be in order. I'm Rob, and I'm the guy that takes the setlists that get posted here and/or e-mailed to me, and puts them into a database and hosts them on wilcobase.com. I've been doing this for about 3 years now, picking up when Jane stepped down from the Timeline. Wow, looking back on it, it's been almost exactly 3 years -- 5/17/2004 was the first official post... Happy Birthday to me. :cheers

Ok, that's enough ancient history, fast forward 3 years... 2007. I haven't been around VC very much lately in the recent months. I've been in contact with a few folks from around here via e-mail, but that's about it. Today I got an e-mail from Jeremy, checking in with me, and saying he thinks I've been getting a bum wrap on VC. Not having been around here, I figured I better stop in and see what's been going on.

So, yeah, I've had a hard time keeping the site up to date, I just posted the AUS tour setlists last week, and up until tonight, I didn't have any of the EUR tour dates entered into the calendar. Not that I really need to explain why, but I'll come forward with it anyways. I've been working on a huge project at work. I've been basically working 6 or 7 days a week on it since as far back as I can remember. The project was for new video scoreboards for the PGA TOUR to be used at THE PLAYERS Championship, which wrapped up last weekend. The 3 weeks leading up to the tournament, I was working at least 13 hours a day. As if that wasn't enough... I got married at the end of April. :wub

So, I hope you can understand that updating setlists on wilcobase.com just had to slide until I got through these 2 very important events in my personal (now public) life.

Going forward, I hope to be able to keep up with the setlists. As soon as I receive them I'll try to get them posted. Adding in updates to artwork, shows reviews, posters, etc. whenever I have the time.

There are some things everyone here at VC can do to help me get things posted sooner. First of all, I don't have any inside information or contact within the band. I rely on fans like each of you to post setlists. If you post a setlist to VC, it would be a HUGE help to me if you could also drop me an e-mail (feedback@wilcobase.com). I may not be able to get onto VC each and every day, but I do check e-mail. The same also goes for concert reviews, photos, posters, etc. If you post something to VC, please also drop me an e-mail. Often times, the photo links get lost on page 5 of 10 in the After The Show forum threads.

Ok, so that's quite enough for now. Thanks to those who defended me in my absence... I haven't seen many of you for quite awhile, but it's good to know you're still around these parts. Hopefully we'll meet up somewhere out there on the road.

  3. what the hell is a goldtoohed?....anyone?....

they're making sh*t up now? what's this world coming to?

    :P

I got the song name, along with the spelling directly from the credits of the "Zamboni Man" short, which if anyone has a copy of, can you share it? I noticed its no longer on the AOL site.

  4. I do have a setlist for that show -- Actually, it dates back to Jane's Timeline. I never got it entered into wilcobase ... mainly because it was a combination of so many different artists, I didn't have a good way to get it entered correctly. I should at least get Jeff's setlist entered though. :blush

  5. Yeah, I saw a taper with a stand next to the soundboard at the Tabernacle. I'm guessing noise from the bar could have also posed a problem. The bar was like 10 feet behind the SBD, and you could hear bottles clanking, ice machines, etc.

I didn't see any mics clamped to the balcony railing, but I couldn't see up into the balcony seats.

  6. Where is the order???

My first time seeing Jeff solo, and definitely worth the 10+ hour round trip. Jeff sounded great, the crowd was loud at the right times, and quiet at the right times, the venue was very cool, it's been a great trip all around.

  7. The other day I got a suggestion for a new Stats page, since it's been awhile since I've updated the site, and since the recent tour just wrapped up, I figured it was a good time for a site update.

So, check out the First/Last time played page: http://wilcobase.com/first_last_time_played.php

Like I said, this page was a suggestion (thanks Zach!)... if you have anything you'd like to see added to the site, don't hesitate to drop me a line.

  8. I did see at least 1 taper, dead center, right in front of the sound board.

The band's setlist also included Say You Miss Me, Hoodoo, Poli Sci and Cali Stars as encore songs.

It wasn't just the setlist that made this a great show. The band seemed to be in great spirits. At the beginning of the show, I was a little worried... There was one or two guys in the audience that wanted to be part of the show, and kept shouting out to Jeff during the quiet parts. Jeff took this in stride and tried not to let it get to him. The guy was asking Jeff to "bring the rock"... Well Jeff finally addressed him directly and said that's a great idea and that everyone would enjoy the show better if this guy was quiet and the band brought the rock. This seemed to work, and I think the guy was quiet the rest of the show.

The call & response explanation part of Kingpin was longer than usual, maybe this is why we didn't get one of the extra songs listed on the band's setlist. Jeff was trying to get the 2 event staff guys in front of the stage to help out with the screaming.

It was also great hearing Mt Bed. The crowd was very well behaved during this, even the shouting guy. He must have left for a pee break or something.

Thanks WILCO for visiting the countryside of western PA. Enjoy your time off, and let's get that new record wrapped up.

  10. Is there anyone who is familiar with the Latrobe, PA venue? My wife and I can't make it to the TEXAS shows so we are entertaining the thought of going to see the guys in PA. However, the word "gymnasium" makes me a little nervous.......BUT the word WILCO calms me down. :)

We tried looking this joint up on the internets but we couldnt find much. Any insight would be appreciated.

I don't have any first hand info about the gym, but here's a link that has a picture:

  11. Rob -

Song 2 Disc 2 = same fragment of the Elizabeth Cotten song from the the 08-16 show (has someone come up with a song title?)

"Instrumental #1" = In Christ There Is No East or West (again, same tune from 08-16)

Great, thanks. That's just the info I was looking for.

In case you were wondering why I just don't download and listen for myself... I'm taking a break from downloading and listening to the new shows. I may try to see one of the fall shows, and I'd like to experience the new songs live for the first time.

  12. I think I might be able to go to the Latrobe, PA date. I hope the Gym has good acoustics.

I may be making the trip up for that one as well. It's only about 15 minutes from were I grew up. Seems like a good time to go visit the parents. I couldn't believe it when I saw the post that they were playing Latrobe.

  13. First of all, for setlist purposes (and no one else probably cares about this besides Rob), the newest song that I had been calling "There's a Light" should probably be switched to "What Light," which is how the band has it written on its setlists.

Thanks so much for your timely setlist updates. I tune in each morning for the latest setlists, and your show reviews. I think I owe you a few of these :beer the next time our paths cross.

    :cheers

  14. Hey everyone...

I've just updated the Google Earth file containing placemarks for all the venues Wilco has been to over the years.

If you can spare a few minutes, I'd appreciate any help in checking these and correcting any mistakes. There are still many venues that are just located in the correct city but not anywhere close to the correct street address. Take a look at the venues you've been to, or the venues in your hometown and let me know if they are incorrect.

Here's the link for the Google Earth file: http://wilcobase.com/wilco.kmz

In case you don't have it, you can get Google Earth from here (Windows & Mac OS/X): http://earth.google.com/index.html

You can post corrections back here, or e-mail them to me at feedback@wilcobase.com

Thanks for you time and your help.
