Top 3 for me is pretty simple. 4-9 tougher to decide.

That was a great one to be at. Can't believe they played it straight to open. Can't think of a lot of bands that can open with their entire ninth album.
-
Yeah they're playing it straight through to open to tonight. Awesome.

My only complaint: No vinyl release until Nov 27!

Can't wait to preorder the hell out of this.

I've only listened once, but this strikes me as their best since Ghost Is Born. Then again, this is exactly the kind of Wilco I like. More stripped down, rockin' without being too dad-rocky, melodic but unconventional. Really, really strong stuff, and a nice surprise!
My feelings exactly. I've grown to love them all, but Ghost was the last time I've loved a Wilco record first play through start to finish,

Topic says it all. I know it's a long shot but would prefer to deal with somebody here (instead of Craigslist). I live in Chicago and would prefer to pick them up myself, or meet at the show (I can't be there until 5PM Cst).
-
I hope they reconsider this. I used to live in Chicago and saw quite a few of their shows. I personally am against this law and have written my representative and senator about it. It's great that they are making a stand but this is punishing fans that may also be against this law. And going to another show out of state is not an option.
I'm originally from Indiana and like you pretty ashamed by my home-state over this. It's unfortunate, but Indiana fans aren't being punished by Wilco or any other business that may boycott the state. They're being punished by their own elected officials.

Interesting. Maybe that's the benefit this year?
Looks like it is according to the JAM USA site!

Wow, Saturday night was great and all but sure would've liked to see Radio King! Looks like another awesome night. Thanks for the setlist
*And re: Hotel Arizona, he noted how that song had received a lot of requests via the Wilco web site. "A disproportionate number," Jeff said, adding that it would surely suck the energy out of the room but doing the opposite when the audience chimed in on the do-doos and when Jeff played his actual guitar part during the solo (which sounds hilariously simplistic without the rest of the band).
I requested Hotel Arizona a couple years back at one of the Vic shows and Jeff made the same point about the solo. Still sounded good to me!

Really enjoying this, too. Also been listening to...
Labi Siffre - Remember My Song
Thundercat - Apocalypse
King Krule - 6 Feet Beneath the Moon
Natalie Prass - Natalie Prass
Destroyer - Kaputt

Interesting that Tweedy did not sell out in Chicago, LA or San Fran. Solo shows almost certainly would sell out, right?
Do the solo shows have less tickets than a normal Vic show? Since they have folding chairs out? Either way, I'm pretty surprised. I was expecting they'd be sold out after a weekend tops.
-
What's wrong with me? I'm actually looking forward to standing in that line at the Vic. It's going to feel like old home week, hopefully just a bit warmer than for the solo shows last year. See you all there!
I don't see how it could possibly be as cold as last year. Not a lot of people super early last year at night 2 of the benefit shows. We wussed out and showed up maybe 1 hour before doors were supposed to open (I think they ended up having mercy and opening them sooner), and the line was relatively short. Not even to the alley.

Whew! Got the presale tix for March 6 and 7 at the Vic.
I just got 2 for the 7th on presale at 10:24, I guess some more freed up because I wasn't getting any right at 10:00 - 10:05.
-
I really like the vocals, they kinda sound like slowed-down Michael Stipe to me.
-
I went to this show too. Thought the sound was a terrible muddy mess.
Hmm, which night? I went the 2nd night (I think it was Monday and Friday) and didn't get that. I did go to New Order there a couple months later and thought the sound wasn't great. Was at the very back for New Order though and was much closer for QOTSA.
Then again, I may have just been having a little too much fun.

Top 5 for me were
1. Winterlude Night 2 & 6, can't really choose one over the other.
2. Queens of the Stone Age at Aragon in Chicago.
3. St. Vincent at The Riv
4. Tweedy Night 2 at Vic
5. Television at Metro Chicago
Neutral Milk Hotel at The Riv would've been top 5 if my fiancee and I weren't nearly knocked on our asses by a huge dude who decided to start slam dancing somewhere around Holland, 1945 (third song of the set and he never stopped). Not to be a baby, but it was like 10 below in Chicago and we waited in line for at least an hour just to have someone push his way up to the front and start shoving people! Maybe I'm crazy for not expecting this at a NMH concert, I dunno. The music was still amazing.

The Winterlude Roadcases are up!
Just bought this night in mp3 format. Awesome quality! My favorite show I've been to so far (Night 2 was a close 2nd)!

Cannot wait for this. First solo Jeff show for me.
By the way, jamusa.com seems to still have tickets for the Friday show...

To be fair, it's a little silly that anyone is being paid to write a review for a free album.
