Hey all! Happy birthday VC!!! I usually pop in to read the big bboppers recaps but I've made so many friends bc of this band. This forum has always been so civil so cheers to another 20!

Oh man, it bums me out to see so many people disappointed about the whole Karaoke thing...

 

it’s not like it’s gonna be first 10 people to make it side stage go up and it’s a train wreck. They’re looking for people who are competent singers. They’ll rehearse and it will be great, I’m sure! 15-year-old me would be going positively nuclear about such an opportunity (and I mean 30-year-old me is kinda super stoked too).

 

It’ll be alright, and I’m sure Jeff will sing too. It sounds like a really fun show. I am going to submit on both YouTube and Instagram. I hope to be picked, it’s our only shot at attending the festival.

are you the same Sarah C that got to sing with Jeff earlier this month or last month?

I was able to "print at home" or have them delivered for $2.50, maybe because I am in IL?  Another weird thing -- did anyone else notice that the ticket fee is different for the 13th vs. the 14th?  Strange.

I noticed the fee difference as well...very odd.

I'm in Chicago and had the print at home or delivery, I like that little stub so I opted for delivery.

There's really something comforting about logging in first thing at work and reading bböp's recaps.

Anyway, my only negative from last night was I couldn't really hear the Total Pros well at all. Granted, I know where I was standing wasn't the most optimal for sound quality but they just seemed low in the mix to me. Hopefully they sounded better out in the room; I'm sure they did. Great to have them back, in any event!

I was up in the balcony and the horns were a bit lost in the mix.  Hopefully this is balanced out more in the Roadcase.

Wasn't it unreal? And yes, all 6 nights will be roadcases. You can preorder now. A total steal at $9 a show.

Pieholden...OMG! Maybe I'm just a hor-motional mess right now but I was so giddy during that song.

And I was the one shouting "You betta SANG, John" during the super special treat we got from him.

Any word on whether these Winterlude shows will end up as Roadcases in the store?

Also, is it bad to say I'm a bigger fan of Susie's than Jeff's?

As a kid who grew up in Chicago and couldn't manage to sneak into Lounge Ax with a baby face and a fake ID, to me she'll always be the biggest rock star in the Tweedy family.

I would love it if someone more tech-savvy than I could make up a Vine or an animated gif of Jeff's cat impression. That was adorable!

Who knew Jeff was so good at charades?!!!

I really liked when Jeff talked about the reasons behind Sukierae being a double album: how touring with 20 songs vs 10 is more fun and how Jeff likes the idea of having smaller/shorter portions on vinyl.

and there was a mention of Spencer's age and "Cougar" fans...
