who is seeing them this summer?
-
I live in Philly and I won't be doing the festival... ridiculous prices, crappy lineup, no option yet for a one day pass, plus an awesome free festival in Baltimore that weekend.
Haven't seen PJ since June 2008
I saw 3/4 spectrum shows plus MSG and PJ20 so I have been lucky but it's rare that PJ play in your backyard these days.. thats why i wish they were doing a 2 or 3 run at wells fargo instead of that extremely horrible festival in philly.
-
what song do you think they will play?
-
The Allman Brothers Band policy is even weirder. They allow taping, but no online trading - only through the mail trading.
this is why bands like pearl jam and now appreantly wilco are doing official bootleg's because they online trading or mail trading cirulates poor quality recordings.. I'm assuming this for wilco anyway. it's a good move for their fans.. low cost to record and release these show via roadcase and low cost for the fans.
-
I was hoping to go to Made in America, but I have tickets for Springsteen on Sunday, and I have a feeling that that is the night they're going to be playing too
we live in south jersey so very close to this festival.. I have seen pearl jam almost 20 times as has my wife but we won't be making this trip.. not interested in seeing pj do a hits set for 1.5.
-
never seen him wear shorts lol.. well that goes for jim james, vedder etc also... jim james wears scarves and shit most summer shows lol
-
just picked up both shows.. it's a great idea a lot of others do it why not wilco.. cant wait to play them.
-
very awesome news.. will be buying one this week and one next week.. can't wait to sink my teeth into these bootleg's..
-
Never heard a note of the Avett's before last night, thought they were terrific, best thing to come out of the night.
My beef is not that they were squeezed by festival constraints, its the chronic short changing philly gets by that band. If they did a 2 night run in the fall and came back for the festival in the summer, no problem. I thought we turned a corner getting that evening with show but it seems we didn't. This has been a long simmering issue with me that just boiled over last night. I just can't understand why NY gets 5 shows, DC gets 3, philly gets 90 minutes. The only answer i can come up with is they don't see this as a key market for them which is fine, I'll adjust the time I devote to them. I know I must come off as being a baby but I have 2 young kids, cannot travel like a i used to and would like to see one of my favorite bands do some of the killer sets they do without having to plan a road trip all of the time.
And I really did feel the show felt rushed. Songs like Impossible Germany and Handshake Drugs just felt like they were getting through them just to get to the next 2.
I ended up leaving before the encore because Jeff said there would be no encore, at least I caught the first ferry.
try being in australia when you get them every 4 years or so... for that mattter any band you like every 4 year or so.
I think philly is a key market for wilco.. it's big with bands like pearl jam, MMJ etc and wilco is no different but the band doesn't seem to think that way.. They would almost sell out the mann center or 2 nights at the electric factory no trouble. I always thought it was a venue issue but that's just an excuse i guess. I saw them in wilmington in 2009 but that was my last full wilco show.. need to see them proper soon!
-
Dr Dog is not well suited to play a place that big. They put on one hell of an energetic show. I've been lucky enough to see them with 100 people in a tiny bar, and a handful of times at the Electric Factory. I wish they could have played longer.
I didn't see any of the Avett set. Not that I dislike them, but I was there for Wilco and Dr Dog.
A couple who left after Avetts gave me and my pal their pit tickets, so I was in the 5th row for Wilco. I just saw them last weekend at Forecastle, and they did the same thing there with rushing through the setlist and playing as much music as possible. Sure, I wish they were allotted more time, but I appreciate the effort the band put in to give us all they could, especially since they really were breaking down the set after "Shot in the Arm" but came out to play "Late Greats". very pleased with last nights show.
i had an issue with the rushed nature of the show... wilco should have demanded 2 hours or just play their own show at the mann or maybe 2 shows at the electric factory.. but i was there for just pretty much wilco even though i like dr dog a little.
-
Dr dog and avetts needed to start at 5:30 so wilco could get to play from 8:30 till 11:00
Had similar issues to many others.. Many people left before wilco finished which always pisses me off.
The set was rushed sure they played 17 songs but it wasn't paced great and seemed to be rushing through many tracks. Thought ITMWLY was rushed... I could be wrong.
The issue with me is ok it's a festival of sorts BUT there were probably 10,000 people who went just for wilco with a splattering of Avett and dr dog fans.. and all we get was 1.5 hours?
Good show enjoyed she's a jar and misunderstood etc but wilco need to schedule a show here in the album off period.. I would love a non album show at the Mann.. MMJ seem to Play almost every year album or not.. Wilco have a lot of fans here that want a full show or 2.

Great energy tonight, as usual at the Charlottesville — er...um...nTelos Wireless — Pavilion, and the weather gods smiled on us (except for the crazy humidity). The band responded in kind with an old-fashioned sweaty rock 'n roll show.
Must mention one comment Jeff made in the encore when he complimented the Charlottesville crowd: "If this was the 70's," Jeff said in part, "we would overdub you and put you on our live album."
Some more comments hopefully to follow at some point, but for now, here was the complete setlist, as played:

My friends and I have three extra tickets for Saturday's show in Section 102, row E, which is the fifth row of the center section. They're great seats! We paid $66 apiece for them through the presale, but we're hoping to get $50 apiece for them. If you're in the Harrisburg area, we can meet up tomorrow; otherwise, I can just meet you at the venue Saturday. Drop me a line if you're interested.
messaged you..

Posters are 25, and the shirts seemed to be new designs and around 25 as well.
thanks... are the shirts nice compared to other years I mean.. ?

Hoping someone is able to pick these up as we've just had a group back out and VERY late in the game.
Weather is supposed to be great and the tickets are a group nearest the inner aisle facing stage-left - seats 5-8. I got them through the pre-sale and have the hard tickets in hand, but at this stage if there's time for me to overnight them to you, I will (on my dime), but it is likely easier to meet near willcall on Saturday...the rest of us are driving down from CT and staying over Friday night so we should be at the event early.
Ticket Details:
4 Tickets in total
Section 104, Row S, Seats 5-8 (Considered "Left Orchestra" section)
- I'm willing to break into pairs, but would _prefer_ not to separate into singles...obviously at this point I'm open and will consider anything.
Looking for face ($65/ticket), and sure it will be appreciated that they are good seats/view, and only ~30 rows from stage.
Feel free to ring/text my cell or shoot me an e-mail at my gmail account as well but I will be checking for PM's here all day today and tomorrow, as I'd prefer not only to see these go to someone from the site, but I'd _definitely_ prefer not to be hunting for someone to take them on Saturday at the show.
Thanks!
David

Not sure if anything came of this, but it's so close to the show and I just found I have 4 seats from a group of the 8 of us who are _not_ going to be able to make it.
Offering them up here - Section 104, Row S - seats 5-8, at face of course.
PM me or email me at my gmail account: fezzick51@gmail.com if you're still looking for some and we can meet up near the Willcall on Saturday, unless there's time for me to overnight them to you today...
Dave
I will be sending you an email.. I'm in south jersey..

These are still for sale. I have reduced price to $50 each, or $100 for pair.
still for sale? let me know...

OK the Shit has hit this fan (please consider this a Replacements Official Cassette "Bootleg" reference)!!!
The main guy I'm going with has canceled, but gallantly agreed to pay for his ticket if I can't get rid of it...but...to complicate matters, a group of folks from New Jersey who were going to go...now all can't. It was a family. Arrggghhhh...
Sooooooooo...
I've got 4 tickets in the center 20th row (best possible sound wise).
If you're interested PM me, or email me at "HareDurga@yahoo.com", or heck feel free to call me at (585) 582-6331- I can always edit that out.. The 2 in the pit are hard copy & can be mailed out (but I'd recommend just meeting there), & the 4 in 20th row are will call, but I'll be there very early, probably trying to sell tickets, & I can meet anyone as needed.
These are:
~Section 100, Row V, Seats 1-4 (aisle seats)
how much you offering? .. I have tickets already in section 201 slightly behind where those tickets are... may be interested... send me a message..

I'm pretty excited about seeing them at Music Midtown here in Atlanta. It'll be the first time I've seen them and slept in my own bed afterwards since April 2003.
this is rare unless you live in the north east lol
