Capitol City sounds a little bit like Randy Newman to me

Take Either Way->Side With The Seeds and On and On with 3/4 of WTA's strongest tracks and there's an album that can just about stand up to any other Wilco disc.
I was thinking the same thing. Except, I think the album's weakest parts are Side With The Seeds and Shake It Off. My problem with both SBS and W(TA) are that they sound too similar to each other and both of them have too much filler. If they had just made one album it would be great. The quick play list that i just made:
Either Way
You Are My Face
One Wing
Impossible Germany
Bull Black Nova
Please Be Patient With Me
Deeper Down
You Never Know
Walken
Solitaire
Sky Blue Sky
I'll Fight
Sonny Feeling
On And On And On

I've been trying to decipher the lyrics to I Might. I'm pretty sure I'm way off. Especially towards the end. Anyone else have any thoughts?
Was I wrong
All night long
It’s so hot
As the stinkin’ sun
I came along and I fell oh oh oh
Some guys have everything I know
It’s alright
I’ve done a lot of crawling around outside
And I heard it’s alright
Your sno-cone
And it’s piss and blood
It’s in the card,
Oh Get Well soon everybody
You owe a lot of what it takes
Let it go
I don’t know oh
Because neck bad shave
In the low low slo-mo
It’s alright
You won’t set the kids on fire
Oh, But I might
You come on sentimental
If the solar cars coming
I’m home
Remember carters on the slim jim blood brother
Some soul with the coke clean tow is a mother
Yeah that’s right
When are you gonna find out I’m all insight?
Oh, You still might
It’s alright
It’s alright
It’s alright
You won’t set the kids on fire
Oh, but I might
It’s alright
It’s alright

So, with the great Record Store Day release from Wilco this year, I started thinking of some ideas that would be great if the band released next year (I know it's a little soon, but why not?). It would be amazing if we finally got some sort of limited edition release of DBpm. Although, I doubt that would happen. To be slightly more realistic though, I'd love to see a 10" of More Like The Moon or a vinyl edition of Mermaid Ave 2. Any other ideas?

is anyone else having trouble finding this at their local record store? Several stores that would normally carry this tell me they are having trouble getting it in.

If you are not familiar with Mulcahy's work you should really look into it. He's put out some great albums.
Anyway, when my brother (who is a huge Mulcahy fan) heard about the death of Mark's wife he got the idea for this tribute/fundraiser. He started talking to different bands about doing a track, including the Autumn Defense. It turned out that Pat is a big fan of Miracle Legion. Anyway, the album seemed to pick up steam and got some really great bands involved. It should be really great and it's for a good cause.

If I remember right, wasn't "Let's Not Get Carried Away" available for $.99 for a short time (like maybe the first day) on itunes, and then it eventually went to only people who bought the full album. Of course later, it ended up on the bonus EP.

I'm looking for one ticket to the show in Cleveland on Feb 22. If anyone has a ticket that they don't need it would be amazing.
thanks
chris

bump. anyone?
-
I got shut out of the presale immediately and missed the "nokia rush." Does anyone have two half-way decent tickets that they would be willing to sell for Cleveland? Thanks so much.
-
I guess it's just suprising since i've always had no problem getting tickets on these presales in the past.
-
I guess it's hopeless? Did they really sell these presales out this quickly? Seems impossible.
-
no tickets in cleveland either.
-
does anyone have aby of these tracks that they could put on sendspace or anything? thanks
-
No. I actually don't have a computer at home and use a community computer here at work. That means that after I have transferred something to the computer (and then my ipod) I delete it to make more room for others. Some things I keep on an external drive, but not everything. These were tracks that were not on my external drive and I don't have hard copies.

so my ipod crashed recently and some of the non album wilco tracks that I had on there were lost. Any chance someone could post the following songs:
How To Fight Loneliness (Kicking Television Bonus Track)
Monday (Kicking Television Bonus Track)
Jesus, Etc. (Live - Tsunami Relief CD)
Also on another thread I saw these non album tracks mentioned that I would be interested in:
I'm The Man Who Loves You (Live from Studio M Vol. 2)
Spiders (Kidsmoke) (Live - Free MP3 from Wilcoworld)
Theologians (Live - Think Indie EP)
Any help in at least getting the tracks I lost back would be great. Thanks.

I actually hear the lyrics to "This is New" like this:
This is new
This is the new
The new me
The new them
The new us
This is
The path
Greater love walks
Slowly
Persist
Persistent
A persistent
Onward momentum
I care less
I only honor this
Now, now nothing else
Nothing happens
I loosen
My body
For this
Persistent

Wow! I need to hear it more, but upon first listen I really am into this album. "snot-nosed obnoxious pop" at it's best. I enjoyed every track.
