The Mountain Goats: "We Shall All Be Healed"
-
-
I know!
The kids probably WOULD love Yo La Tengo... but they're 6, 3, and 1 1/2. I mean, I'm not crazy...
-
A few still left dudes ... one for $15 or two for $25 ... it's for a good cause!
-
actually i kinda agree w/ that comment some... it does sound like a mixture of their older stuff rolled into one record at times.
They have like 12 records and a career going back 20 years, with songs spanning a dozen or two musical genres. Your comment doesn't tell me very much, is all I'm saying.
-
This disc sounds like everything they do great thrown into a pot.
-
This show was nice .... "Sad & Beautiful World" was a lovely treat.
Jen you going to Okkervil River or The Mountain Goats? I have been at the Bowery a little too often lately.
-
I have a few copies left of this silkscreen art print we did as a fundraiser for the first night of the Wordless Music series -- I am selling them for $15 and will throw in free shipping for the first few orders.... the print size is 20" x 26" and they are numbered from an edition of 140. This image here barely does it justice:
Send me a PM or email words@wordlessmusic.org

I'm going to see them next week in NYC and I'm really excited. I've been a fan for a quite a few years now and this is the first time I've even heard about a show anywhere in my area. Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
Me too

Thanks for the kind words dudes.....looks like Andrew Bird and The FLUX Quartet will likely be the November performers.

Yeah, he said he had also made a few instrumental/electronic records too -- not sure if those are circulating or just for him.
Dennis Hopper's son was there too and was sort of obscenely drunk. He was pretty funny tho.

I talked to this guy when we were both a little drunk at happy hour in a bar in midtown. He was pretty cool. He said he was going to some country in Africa (Uganda maybe?) to film a documentary about making music with a bunch of street kids out there I believe.

All day.
I'm going to become the AHAAH version of AWATT. So let's see.....AAHAAHATT?
You should think about coming to New York in November. Details soon.
-
yeah, as small of a band as EITS are (they sell like 10-15k records or less each time out), i'd really hate to have to see them at a theater, not to mention for $25-30+.
Actually they have sold about 100k records in the U.S. alone. This does not include the Friday Night Lights OST.
-
I know they have many many dates scheduled for spring/summer after the new record comes out in February. They also may or may not be opening a bunch of dates for Modest Mouse.
-
Thanks doods
The two new songs they played last night at the Bowery were punishingly inzane.
-
the essentials...."fort recovery", "love you just the same"
get both SSG albums too.
and the MUST is will's solo album "vultures await".
What he said. (SSG = South San Gabriel) Distance + Clime is pretty good too.
-
I is interviewing them on Monday
-
Through the Beat Your Ass Season Pass, which you can get to by pre-ordering the record. Incredible stuff, this band keeps getting better and better with age, this one gives I Can Hear The Heart Beating As One a run for it's money.

I could not agree more. This record absolutely destroys and might end up being the album of the year.
-
So, just to set the scene, let me make sure I have this right: you're telling El Famous how to raise his kids?
Actually, I was offering to send him some CDs. You're the one being an asshole. Get a life. "Just to set the scene."
