  1. Well, the pressure's down, the boss ain't here,

He gone North, he ain't around,

They say that vanity got the best of him

But he sure left here after sundown.

By the way, that's a cute hat,

And that smile's so hard to resist

But what's a sweetheart like you doin' in a dump like this?

You know, I once knew a woman who looked like you,

She wanted a whole man, not just a half,

She used to call me sweet daddy when I was only a child,

You kind of remind me of her when you laugh.

In order to deal in this game, got to make the queen disappear,

It's done with a flick of the wrist.

What's a sweetheart like you doin' in a dump like this?

You know, a woman like you should be at home,

    That's where you belong,

Watching out for someone who loves you true

Who would never do you wrong.

Just how much abuse will you be able to take?

Well, there's no way to tell by that first kiss.

What's a sweetheart like you doin' in a dump like this?

You know you can make a name for yourself,

You can hear them tires squeal,

You can be known as the most beautiful woman

Who ever crawled across cut glass to make a deal.

You know, news of you has come down the line

Even before ya came in the door.

They say in your father's house, there's many mansions

Each one of them got a fireproof floor.

Snap out of it, baby, people are jealous of you,

They smile to your face, but behind your back they hiss.

What's a sweetheart like you doin' in a dump like this?

Got to be an important person to be in here, honey,

Got to have done some evil deed,

Got to have your own harem when you come in the door,

Got to play your harp until your lips bleed.

They say that patriotism is the last refuge

    To which a scoundrel clings.

Steal a little and they throw you in jail,

Steal a lot and they make you king.

There's only one step down from here, baby,

It's called the land of permanent bliss.

What's a sweetheart like you doin' in a dump like this?

  2. They ask me how I feel

And if my love is real

And how I know I'll make it through.

And they, they look at me and frown,

They'd like to drive me from this town,

    They don't want me around

    'Cause I believe in you.

They show me to the door,

They say don't come back no more

'Cause I don't be like they'd like me to,

And I walk out on my own

    A thousand miles from home

    But I don't feel alone

    'Cause I believe in you.

I believe in you even through the tears and the laughter,

I believe in you even though we be apart.

I believe in you even on the morning after.

Oh, when the dawn is nearing

Oh, when the night is disappearing

Oh, this feeling is still here in my heart.

Don't let me drift too far,

    Keep me where you are

Where I will always be renewed.

And that which you've given me today

Is worth more than I could pay

And no matter what they say

    I believe in you.

I believe in you when winter turn to summer,

I believe in you when white turn to black,

I believe in you even though I be outnumbered.

Oh, though the earth may shake me

Oh, though my friends forsake me

Oh, even that couldn't make me go back.

Don't let me change my heart,

    Keep me set apart

From all the plans they do pursue.

    And I, I don't mind the pain

    Don't mind the driving rain

    I know I will sustain

    'Cause I believe in you.

  3. Oh the time will come up

    When the winds will stop

And the breeze will cease to be breathin'.

Like the stillness in the wind

    'Fore the hurricane begins,

The hour when the ship comes in.

    Oh the seas will split

    And the ship will hit

And the sands on the shoreline will be shaking.

    Then the tide will sound

    And the wind will pound

And the morning will be breaking.

    Oh the fishes will laugh

As they swim out of the path

And the seagulls they'll be smiling.

And the rocks on the sand

    Will proudly stand,

The hour that the ship comes in.

And the words that are used

For to get the ship confused

Will not be understood as they're spoken.

For the chains of the sea

Will have busted in the night

And will be buried at the bottom of the ocean.

    A song will lift

    As the mainsail shifts

And the boat drifts on to the shoreline.

    And the sun will respect

    Every face on the deck,

The hour that the ship comes in.

    Then the sands will roll

    Out a carpet of gold

For your weary toes to be a-touchin'.

    And the ship's wise men

    Will remind you once again

That the whole wide world is watchin'.

    Oh the foes will rise

With the sleep still in their eyes

And they'll jerk from their beds and think they're dreamin'.

But they'll pinch themselves and squeal

And know that it's for real,

The hour when the ship comes in.

    Then they'll raise their hands,

Sayin' we'll meet all your demands,

But we'll shout from the bow your days are numbered.

    And like Pharaoh's tribe,

They'll be drownded in the tide,

And like Goliath, they'll be conquered.

  4. I was listening to Highway 61 yesterday afternoon on the way home in the traffic, and some of those lines just floored me. A few of my favorites (please try and include song title):

"The sun's not yellow, it's CHICKEN" (Tombstone Blues)

"Because the cops don't need you, and man, they expect the same" (Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues)

"You just kinda wasted my precious time, but don't think twice, it's alright" (Don't Think Twice)

"The ghost of 'lectricity howls in the bones of her face" (Visions of Johanna)

"jewels and binoculars hang from the head of the mule" (Visions of Johanna)

"I stood a-wondering which way to go, I lit a cigarette on a parking meter

And walked on down the road. It was a normal day." (Talkin' World War III Blues)

"I'll let you be in my dreams if I can be in yours,"

I said that. (Talkin' World War III Blues)

"And don't go mistaking Paradise, for that home across the road." (The Ballad of Frankie Lee & Judas Priest)

"Don't even remember what her lips felt like on mine--most of the time." (Most of the Time)

    thanks, Bob.

At dawn my lover comes to me

And tells me of her dreams

With no attempts to shovel the glimpse

Into the ditch of what each one means

At times I think there are no words

But these to tell what's true

And there are no truths outside the Gates of Eden

  5. She stands on the banks of the mighty Mississippi

    Alone in the pale moonlight

Waiting for a man, a riverboat gambler

    Said that he'd return tonight

They used to waltz on the banks of the mighty Mississippi

    Loving the whole night through

'Til the riverboat gambler went off to make a killing

And bring it on back to you.

    Evangeline, Evangeline

Curses the soul of the Mississippi queen

    That pulled her man away.

Bayou Sam, from the South Lousianne

    Had gambling in his veins

    Evangeline, from the Maritimes

    Was slowly going insane.

    Evangeline, Evangeline

Curses the soul of the Mississippi queen

    That pulled her man away.

High on the top of Hickory Hill

She stands in the lightning and thunder

Down on the river the boat was a-sinking

She watched that queen go under

    Evangeline, Evangeline

Curses the soul of the Mississippi queen

    That pulled her man away.

  6. How can it be that you people keep posting songs I love (Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits?? A blast from the past, and one of my favorites). One day I'll grow out of this AWATT stage and get back to some of this fine, fine music, like ....

Sometimes Most of the time means...

    Most of the time

    I'm clear focused all around,

    Most of the time

I can keep both feet on the ground,

I can follow the path, I can read the signs,

Stay right with it, when the road unwinds,

I can handle whatever I stumble upon,

    I don't even notice she's gone,

    Most of the time.

    Most of the time

    It's well understood,

    Most of the time

    I wouldn't change it if I could,

I can't make it all match up, I can hold my own,

I can deal with the situation right down to the bone,

I can survive, I can endure

And I don't even think about her

    Most of the time.

    Most of the time

    My head is on straight,

    Most of the time

I'm strong enough not to hate.

I don't build up illusion 'till it makes me sick,

I ain't afraid of confusion no matter how thick

I can smile in the face of mankind.

Don't even remember what her lips felt like on mine

    Most of the time.

    Most of the time

She ain't even in my mind,

I wouldn't know her if I saw her

    She's that far behind.

    Most of the time

    I can't even be sure

If she was ever with me

Or if I was with her.

    Most of the time

    I'm halfway content,

    Most of the time

I know exactly where I went,

I don't cheat on myself, I don't run and hide,

Hide from the feelings, that are buried inside,

    I don't compromised and I don't pretend,

I don't even care if I ever see her again

    Most of the time.

  7. Caught between the twisted stars the plotted lines the faulty map

that brought Columbus to New York

Betwixt between the East and West he calls on her wearing a leather vest

the earth squeals and shudders to a halt

A diamond crucifix in his ear is used to help ward off the Fear

that he has left his soul in someone's rented car

Inside his pants he hides a mop to clean the mess that he has dropped

into the life of lithesome Juliette Bell

And Romeo wanted Juliette and Juliette wanted Romeo

And Romeo wanted Juliette and Juliette wanted Romeo

Romeo Rodriguez squares his shoulders and curses Jesus

runs a comb through his black pony-tail

He's thinking of his lonely room

the sink that by his bed gives off a stink

Then smells her perfume in his eyes and her voice was like a bell

Outside the street were steaming the crack dealers were dreaming

of an Uzi someone had just scored

I betcha I could hit that light with my one good arm behind my back

    says little Joey Diaz

Brother give me another tote those downtown hoods are no damn good

those Italians need a lesson to be taught

This cop who died in Harlem you think they'd get the warnin'

I was dancing when his brains run out on the street

And Romeo had Juliette and Juliette had her Romeo

And Romeo had Juliette and Juliette had her Romeo

I'll take Manhattan in a garbage bag with Latin written on it that says

"It's hard to give a shit these days"

Manhattan's sinking like a rock, into the filthy Hudson what a shock

they wrote a book about it, they said it was like ancient Rome

The perfume burned his eyes, holding tightly to her thighs

and something flickered for a minute and then it vanished and was gone

a lovestruck romeo sings a streetsuss serenade

and i can't do a love song like the way its meant to be

i can't do everything but i'd do anything for you

i can't do anything except be in love with you

and all i do is miss you and the way we used to be

Spanish Johnny drove in from the underworld last night

With bruised arms and broken rhythm in a beat-up old Buick

    But dressed just like dynamite

He tried sellin' his heart to the hard girls over on Easy Street

But they sighed "Johnny it falls apart so easy and you know hearts these days are cheap"

And the pimps swung their axes and said "Johnny you're a cheater."

Well the pimps swung their axes and said "Johnny you're a liar"

And from out of the shadows came a young girl's voice said: "Johnny don't cry"

Puerto Rican Jane, oh won't you tell me what's your name.

I want to drive you down to the other side of town where paradise ain't so crowded, there'll be action goin' down on Shanty Lane tonight

All them golden-heeled fairies in a real bitch fight

Pull .38s and kiss the girls good night

Oh good night, it's alright Jane

Now let them black boys in to light the soul flame

We may find it out on the street tonight baby

Or we may walk until the daylight maybe

Well like a cool Romeo he made his moves, oh she looked so fine

Like a late Juliet she knew he'd never be true but then she really didn't mind

Upstairs a band was playin', the singer was singin' something about goin' home

She whispered, "Spanish Johnny, you can leave me tonight but just don't leave me alone"

And Johnny cried "Puerto Rican Jane, word is down the cops have found the vein"

Oh them barefoot boys left their homes for the woods

Them little barefoot street boys they say homes ain't no good

They left the corners, threw away all their switchblade knives and kissed each other good-bye

Johnny was sittin' on the fire escape watchin' the kids playin' down the street

He called down "Hey little heroes, summer's long but I guess it ain't very sweet around here anymore"

Janey sleeps in sheets damp with sweat, Johnny sits up alone and watches her dream on, dream on

And the sister prays for lost souls, then breaks down in the chapel after everyone's gone

Jane moves over to share her pillow but opens her eyes to see Johnny up and putting his clothes on

She says "Those romantic young boys

All they ever want to do is fight"

    Those romantic young boys

    They're callin' through the window

"Hey Spanish Johnny, you want to make a little easy money tonight?"

    And Johnny whispered:

Good night, it's all tight Jane

I'll meet you tomorrow night on Lover's Lane

We may find it out on the street tonight baby

Or we may walk until the daylight maybe

  8. Does that mean I = Thunder Road? If so, I can live with that.

Actually...it means I am just about over my being pissed off at you guys and am considering a return engagement.

(No...really these are the opening verses of the best songs ever recorded).

  9. 1. Laminated Kat

    2. ction

    3. Sir Stewart

    4. JorgeFabregas

    5. JUDE

Early one morning the sun was shinin'. I was laying in bed wonderin' if she'd changed at all if her hair was still red. Her Folks said our lives together sure was gonna be rough. They never did like mama's homemade dress...pappa's bank book wasn't big enough. And I was standin' on the side of the road, rain fallin' on my shoes heading out for the East Coast. Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through, Tangled up in blue.

The Screendoor slams, Mary's dress waves. Like a vision she dances across the porch as the radio plays Roy Orbison singing for the lonely. Hey that's me and I want you only. Don't turn me on again I just can't face myself along again.

You'd never leave on your own; Where you're from and where you're going. I know these things like I know you hate me now.

Oh I just don't know where to begin Though he says he'll wait forever It's now or never. But she keeps him hanging on, The silly champion. She says she can't go home Without a chaperone

I was chewin' gum for something to do, The blinds were being pulled down on the dew. Inside, out of love, what a laugh I was looking for you

  10. You got a lotta nerve

To say you are my friend

    When I was down

    You just stood there grinning

    You got a lotta nerve

To say you got a helping hand to lend

You just want to be on

    The side that's winning

You say I let you down

You know it's not like that

    If you're so hurt

Why then don't you show it

You say you lost your faith

But that's not where it's at

You had no faith to lose

    And you know it

    I know the reason

That you talk behind my back

I used to be among the crowd

    You're in with

Do you take me for such a fool

    To think I'd make contact

With the one who tries to hide

What he don't know to begin with

You see me on the street

    You always act surprised

You say, "How are you?" "Good luck"

    But you don't mean it

When you know as well as me

    You'd rather see me paralyzed

Why don't you just come out once

    And scream it

No, I do not feel that good

When I see the heartbreaks you embrace

If I was a master thief

    Perhaps I'd rob them

And now I know you're dissatisfied

With your position and your place

    Don't you understand

    It's not my problem

I wish that for just one time

You could stand inside my shoes

And just for that one moment

    I could be you

Yes, I wish that for just one time

You could stand inside my shoes

You'd know what a drag it is

    To see you

  11. Now listen Julie baby,

It ain't natural for you to cry in the midnight,

It ain't natural for you to cry

    Way in the midnight through,

    Until the wee small hours

Long 'fore the break of dawn, oh Lord.

Now Julie there ain't nothin' on my mind

More further away than what you're lookin' for,

I see the way they jump at me

Lord, from behind the door, and look into my eyes,

    Your little star stuck innuendos,

    Inadequacies, foreign bodies.

And the sunlight shining through the crack in the window pane

    Numbs my brain

And the sunlight shining through the crack in the window pane

    Numbs my brain, oh, Lord.

So open up the window and let me breathe,

I said, open up the window and let me breathe

I'm looking down to the street below

Lord, I cried for you, Oh, Lord.

The cool room, Lord, is a fool's room,

The cool room, Lord, is a fool's room,

And I can almost smell your T.B. sheets

And I can almost smell your T.B. sheets, on your sick bed.

    I gotta go, l gotta,

    And you said, please stay.

I want, I want a drink of water,

I want a drink of water,

I went to the kitchen to get me a drink of water,

    I gotta go baby.

I send, I send, I send somebody around her later,

You know we got John comin' around

Later with a bottle of wine for you, babe.

The cool room Lord, is a fool's room

The cool room Lord, is a fool's room

And I can almost smell your T.B. sheets

I can almost smell your T.B. sheets

    I gotta go.

Send 'round, send one that grumbles later on,

Will see what I can pick up for ya,

I got a few things gotta do,

    Don't worry about it,

Don't worry about it, don't worry, up up go go go

    I gotta go,

Gotta go, gotta go, gotta go, gotta go,

    And all right, all right,

I turned on the radio, if you wanna hear a few tunes,

I'll turn the radio on for you

  12. There she goes

    There she goes again

    Racing through my brain

    And I just can't contain

    This feeling that remains

    There she blows

    There she blows again

    Pulsing through my veins

    And I just can't contain

    This feeling that remains

    There she goes

    (There she goes again)

    There she goes again

    (There she goes again)

    Racing through my brain

    (There she goes)

    And I just can't contain

    This feeling that remains

    There she goes

    There she goes again

    She calls my name

    she pulls my train

No one else could heal my pain

    And I just can't contain

    This feeling that remains

    There she goes

    (She calls my name)

    There she goes again

    (She calls my name)

    Chasing down my lane

    (She calls my name)

    And I just can't contain

    This feeling that remains

    There she goes

    (There she goes again)

    There she goes

    (There she goes again)

    There she goes

    There she goes

    There she goes again

    Racing through my brain

    And I just can't contain

    This feeling that remains

    There she goes

    There she goes again

    Pulsing through my veins

    And I just can't contain

    This feeling that remains

    There she goes

    (There she goes again)

    There she goes again

    (There she goes again)

    Racing through my brain

    (There she goes)

    And I just can't contain

    This feeling that remains

    There she goes

    There she goes again

    She calls my name

    she pulls my train

No one else could heal my pain

    And I just can't contain

    This feeling that remains

    There she goes

    (She calls my name)

    And I just can't contain

    There she goes

    (There she goes again)

    There she goes

    (There she goes again)

    There she goes

    Now

how can it be that a love

    carved out of caring

    Fashioned by fate

    could suffer s hard

From the games played once too often?

But making mistakes is a part of lifes imperfection

    born of the years.

Is it so wrong to be human after all?

Drawn into the stream of undefined illusion.

Those diamond dreams they can't disguise the truth.

That there is something about you

    baby

    so right.

    I wouldn't be without you

    baby

    tonight.

If ever our love was concealed no-one can say that

We didn't feel a million things and a perfect dream of life.

    Gone fragile but free

    we remain tender together

    if not so in love

    It's not so wrong

    we're only human after all.

These changing years they add to your confusion

    Oh

and you need to hear the time that told the truth.

    Because there's something about you

    baby

    so right.

    I couldn't live without you

    baby

    tonight.

And now there's something about you

And I couldn't be without you tonight.

  13. Well, he's trying to survive up on Mulholland Drive

He's got the phone in the car in his hand

Everybody's trying to be a friend of mine

Even a dog can shake hands

He wants twenty per cent 'cause he knew you back when

Now they all want a piece of the band

Everybody's trying to be a friend of mine

Even a dog can shake hands

All the worms and the gnomes are having lunch at Le Dome

They're all living off the fat of the land

Everybody's trying to be a friend of mine

Even a dog can shake hands

We'll do the rest for you

Find a way to make it pay

    Don't lose your head

    You'll end up dead

Or you'll be living in the Valley someday

Abandon all hope and don't rock the boat

And we'll all make a few hundred grand

Everybody's trying to be a friend of mine

Even a dog can shake hands

You'll be making the scene 'til they pick your bones clean

No, they don't leave much for the fans

Everybody's trying to be a friend of mine

Even a dog can shake hands

  14. One soft infested summer me and Terry became friends

Trying in vain to breathe the fire we was born in

Catching rides to the outskirts tying faith between our teeth

Sleeping in that old abandoned beach house getting wasted in the heat

And hiding on the backstreets, hiding on the backstreets

With a love so hard and filled with defeat

Running for our lives at night on them backstreets

Slow dancing in the dark on the beach at Stockton's Wing

Where desperate lovers park we sat with the last of the Duke Street Kings

Huddled in our cars waiting for the bells that ring

In the deep heart of the night to set us loose from everything

to go running on the backstreets, running on the backstreets

We swore we'd live forever on the backstreets we take it together

Endless juke joints and Valentino drag where dancers scraped the tears

Up off the street dressed down in rags running into the darkness

Some hurt bad some really dying at night sometimes it seemed

You could hear the whole damn city crying blame it on the lies that killed us

Blame it on the truth that ran us down you can blame it all on me Terry

It don't matter to me now when the breakdown hit at midnight

There was nothing left to say but I hated him and I hated you when you went away

Laying here in the dark you're like an angel on my chest

Just another tramp of hearts crying tears of faithlessness

Remember all the movies, Terry, we'd go see

Trying to learn how to walk like heroes we thought we had to be

And after all this time to find we're just like all the rest

Stranded in the park and forced to confess

To hiding on the backstreets, hiding on the backstreets

We swore forever friends on the backstreets until the end

Hiding on the backstreets, hiding on the backstreets

  15. She's waitin' for me

when I get home from work

oh, but things ain't just the same

    She turns out the light

    and cries in the dark

won't answer when I call her name

On the stairs I smoke a

    cigarette alone

    Mexican kids are shootin'

    fireworks below

Hey baby, it's the Fourth of July

Hey baby, it's the Fourth of July

    She gives me her cheek

    when I want her lips

but I don't have the strength to go

On the lost side of town

    in a dark apartment

we gave up trying so long ago

On the stairs I smoke a

    cigarette alone

    Mexican kids are shootin'

    fireworks below

Hey baby, it's the Fourth of July

Hey baby, it's the Fourth of July

    What ever happened I

    apologize

so dry your tears and baby

walk outside, it's the Fourth of July

On the stairs I smoke a

    cigarette alone

    Mexican kids are shootin'

    fireworks below

Hey baby, it's the Fourth of July

Hey baby, Baby take a walk outside

  16. It ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe

    It don't matter, anyhow

An' it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe

If'n you don't know by now

When your rooster crows at the break of dawn

Look out your window and I'll be gone

    You're the reason I'm trav'lin' on

Don't think twice, it's all right

It ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe

    That light I never knowed

An' it ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe

I'm on the dark side of the road

Still I wish there was somethin' you would do or say

To try and make me change my mind and stay

We never did too much talkin' anyway

So don't think twice, it's all right

It ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal

    Like you never did before

It ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal

I can't hear you any more

I'm a-thinkin' and a-wond'rin' all the way down the road

    I once loved a woman, a child I'm told

I give her my heart but she wanted my soul

But don't think twice, it's all right

I'm walkin' down that long, lonesome road, babe

    Where I'm bound, I can't tell

But goodbye's too good a word, gal

So I'll just say fare thee well

I ain't sayin' you treated me unkind

You could have done better but I don't mind

You just kinda wasted my precious time

But don't think twice, it's all right

  17. When they call your name

    Will you walk right up

With a smile on your face

Or will you cower in fear

    In your favorite sweater

    With an old love letter

    I wish you would

    I wish you would

    Come pick me up

    Take me out

    Fuck me up

    Steal my records

    Screw all my friends

    They're all full of shit

With a smile on your face

    And then do it again

    I wish you would

    When you're walking downtown

Do you wish I was there

Do you wish it was me

With the windows clear and the mannequins eyes

Do they all look like mine

    You know you could

    I wish you would

    Come pick me up

    Take me out

    Fuck me up

    Steal my records

Screw all my friends behind my back

With a smile on your face

    And then do it again

    I wish you would

I wish you'd make up my bed

So I could make up my mind

    Try it for sleeping instead

    Maybe you'll rest sometime

    I wish I could

  18. Say you stand by your man

Tell me something I don't understand

You said you love me and that's a fact

Then you left me, said you felt trapped

Well some things you can explain away

But my heartache's in me till this day

    Did you stand by me

    No, not at all

    Did you stand by me

    No way

    All the times

    When we were close

I'll remember these things the most

I see all my dreams come tumbling down

I won't be happy without you around

So all alone I keep the wolves at bay

There is only one thing that I can say

    Did you stand by me

    No, not at all

    Did you stand by me

    No way

You must explain why this must be

Did you lie when you spoke to me

    Did you stand by me

    No, not at all

    Now I got a job

    But it don't pay

    I need new clothes

    I need somewhere to stay

But without all these things I can do

But without your love I won't make it through

But you don't understand my point of view

    I suppose there's nothing I can do

    Did you stand by me

    No, not at all

    Did you stand by me

    No way

You must explain why this must be

Did you lie when you spoke to me?

    Did you stand by me

    Did you stand by me

    No, not at all

    Did you stand by me

    No way

    Did you stand by me

    No, not at all

    Did you stand by me

    No way

  19. What are we gonna do now?

Taking off his turban, they said, is this man a Jew?

'Cause they're working for the clampdown

They put up a poster saying we earn more than you!

When we're working for the clampdown

We will teach our twisted speech

    To the young believers

We will train our blue-eyed men

    To be young believers

The judge said five to ten-but I say double that again

I'm not working for the clampdown

No man born with a living soul

Can be working for the clampdown

Kick over the wall 'cause government's to fall

    How can you refuse it?

Let fury have the hour, anger can be power

D'you know that you can use it?

The voices in your head are calling

Stop wasting your time, there's nothing coming

Only a fool would think someone could save you

The men at the factory are old and cunning

You don't owe nothing, so boy get runnin'

It's the best years of your life they want to steal

You grow up and you calm down

    You're working for the clampdown

You start wearing the blue and brown

    You're working for the clampdown

So you got someone to boss around

It makes you feel big now

    You drift until you brutalize

You made your first kill now

In these days of evil presidentes

    Working for the clampdown

But lately one or two has fully paid their due

    For working for the clampdown

    But ha! Gitalong! Gitalong!

And I've given away no secrets

    Who's barmy now?

  20. I hurt myself today

to see if I still feel

    I focus on the pain

    the only thing that's real

    the needle tears a hole

    the old familiar sting

try to kill it all away

    but I remember everything

    what have I become?

    my sweetest friend

    everyone I know

    goes away in the end

    you could have it all

    my empire of dirt

    I will let you down

    I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of shit

    upon my liar's chair

    full of broken thoughts

    I cannot repair

    beneath the stains of time

    the feeling disappear

    you are someone else

    I am still right here

    what have I become?

    my sweetest friend

    everyone I know

    goes away in the end

    you could have it all

    my empire of dirt

    I will let you down

    I will make you hurt

    if I could start again

    a million miles away

    I would keep myself

    I would find a way
