  1. I took a quick stab at this. Im positive its incorrect, but it "works". And I have no idea if the chord names are correct. Any and all corrections are welcome. I really like this song

    Whisper

    Jeff Tweedy w Spencer Tweedy

    Starship Casual demo 090222

    E         022100
    A         002220
    G#m   466444
    F#       244322
    B         224442

    We’re gonna love each other
There’s nothing that you can do
We’re gonna march in the streets
    And kiss every cop
    And lick every open wound

I’m gonna sing to your broken children
Punch it right into your face
I’m gonna wrap my arms around your confusion
And hold you like an empty space

    ’Cause there’s right
    And then there’s wrong
    There’s you
    And there’s this song

    It’s a whisper
    Just a whisper
Not a pistol up against your ear
    Not a dream
    I believe
    It’s just a whisper
Just something that I wanted you to hear

I’m gonna list everything I know
    Whatever wisdom I’ve retained
Gonna heave it all into your heart
Gonna breath it right into your brain

    Oh, there’s time
    But it won’t be long
    Oh, it’s fine
But it’d be better if you sang along
    So sing along

    To the whisper
    It’s just a whisper
Not a pistol up against your ear
    Not a dream
    I believe
    It’s just a whisper
Just something that I wanted you to hear

  2. Anyone start chords chart for Many Worlds yet?

    Many Worlds

When I look at the sky
I think of all the stars that have died
    Many worlds collide
    None like yours and mine
No, not like yours and mine
    And I always cry

When I look at the sky

No, not like yours and mine
    Not like yours and mine
    And I always cry

When I look at the sky
I know I’m not the only one
    Alive
I know I’m not the only one

    Looking up at the sky

    None like yours and mine
No, not like yours and mine
    Not like yours and mine

Sometime's It Happens - Brian Patten

[G]Sometimes it happens [Am]that you are friends

And then you are [G]not friends

    [Am]When friendship has passed

    [bm]Whole days are lost

    And a [Am]fountain [D]empties itself into the [G]grass

Sometimes it happens [Am]that you're in love

And then you are you're not thought off

    When love is past

    Whole days are lost

And among them a [D]fountain [Em]empties itself... into the [D]grass

[F#]Sometimes you want to [G*]speak to her and then

[Fsus4]You do not [C#m]want to speak

[D]And then the opportunity has [Em]passed

    Your [bm7]dreams flare [??????]up, they [Cdim7]suddenly [D3]vanish[D*]

[G]And also happens, [Am]there is nowhere to go

And then there is [G]somewhere to go

    [Am]Then you have bypassed

    [bm]Years flare up and are [Am]gone, [D]quicker than a [G]minute

    So you have[D] nothing

You [G]wonder if these things [Am]matter and then...

  7. You Are Not Alone - Mavis Staples (Jeff Tweedy)

You're not alone, I'm with you, I'm goin' there too

What's that song, can't be sung... by two?

A broken home, a broken heart

    Isolated and afraid

Open up this is a raid

I wanna get it through to you

    You're not alone

You're not alone, every night, I stand in your place

Every tear, on every face, tastes the same

A broken dream, a broken heart

    Isolated and afraid

Open up this is a raid

I'm gonna get it through to you

    You're not alone

An open hand, an open heart

There's no need to be afraid

Open up this is a raid

I wanna get it through to you

    You're not alone

I wanna get it through to you

    You're not alone

I'm gonna get it through to you

    You're not alone

  8. Can anyone help with the chords to "Broken Heart", lyrics and link posted below.

Ok I "think" I have figured this out. If anyone can improve, please post reply. Thanks

Broken Heart - Skip Spence (Wilco w Feist)

Broken Heart - Skip Spence (Wilco w Feist)

    Dm7 = 000231

    Cmaj9 = 020010

A [C]broken heart would be lovely

    [F]Broken on the [C]ground

A knife stuck in the ribs of me

    Would [Dm7]be better be [F]found

    [C]Hanging tree blowing gently

    A [F]noose would be ig[C]nored

    Then to [C]stand [Cmaj9]upon the re[Am]ceiving [G]end

    Of the [F]right hand [G]of the [C]Lord

    [G]Like a thirsty [D]cowboy

    In a [F]lake his tongue does [C]rest

Jumps[G] in and he [D]can not swim

    And [F]drowns himself to [C]death

    [G]Or a frozen [D]mountaineer

He [F]chugs up to a stop

    Catching his [Cmaj9]boot heel [Am]in a [G]rock

    [F]Two miles [G]from the [C]top

    An Olympic super swimmer

    Whose belly does not flop

    A super racecar driver

Whose pit it can't be stopped

    A honey dripping hipster

    Whose bee cannot be bopped

Better to be rolled in oats

Than from the roll be dropped

    A broken heart would satisfy

    Broken in a mess

    A severed eye would gratify

    My soul I must confess

I'd rather have no eyes at all

    Be blind upon the floor

Then to stand upon the receiving end

Of the right hand of the Lord

Then to stand upon the receiving end

Of the right hand of the Lord

  9. Does anyone have the chords to Golden Smogs song V? I just can't figure it out and it's such a great tune.

Below is from the sadly, long-gone altcountrytab.com. Oh i miss that site. (http://web.archive.org/web/20030424062457/altcountrytab.com/golden_smog/gs-v.htm)

I've got two versions of this... basically the same chords. The first is my own attempt, the second is another version I've found. The interpretation of the lyrics is a bit different. Not sure which is correct, as I'm English I find the American accents a little difficult. But I've listened again and I still think my lyrics are quite close... anyway make up your own mind

  10. Has anyone transcribed chords for Jay Bennett's - I'll Decorate My Love?

Edit... Ok, I took a stab at this, please let me know how poorly I did, but making any corrections!

I’ll Decorate My Love – Jay Bennett

    Intro: G F

[C]I’ll decorate my [F]love for you with [G]questions

    You’ll [C]decorate your [F]love for me with [G]pain

And [C]there will be no [F]profit in [G]protection

Even [Dm7]when you are walking [F]miles in the [G]rain

And I will curse the day that I first met you

And you will curse the day I lost control

And there will be no reward for your actions

Even when your trying to say, you love her so

    [Dm7]So whisper [F]whatever and [G]all that I will [C]see

Is you where [Dm7]down before [F]me[G]

    [Dm7]So shout or what[F]ever, and [G]all that I will [C]see

    Is you’re in [Dm7]love without me[F][G]

If I can’t win, you know that I’ll try dying

If you can’t win, you’ll settle for a tie

We both can’t win, there’s no point in pretending

And there’s no point in waiting for me to cry

So whisper whatever and all that I will see

Is you where down before me

So shout or whatever, cause one thing is for sure

    You where here before her

So whisper whatever and all that I will see

Is you where down before me

So whisper whatever and all that I will see

Is you where down before me

  11. The best place to get a quick bite and a beer is a bit of a dive called The Waterford. It's right next to Tower on Ludlow street. Great place for some pre-show suds. Less than a minute walk right to your seats in the theater when it's time to head in.

I believe The Waterford has been closed down. I wouldnt go there

On a side note, What do you think the chances are of getting a ticket at the show? I live close by, I am ticketless and want to go

  12. Angel Eyes

    Frank Sinatra

    Writen by: Dennis/Brent

Hey drink up all you people

And Order anything you see have fun you happy people

The drink and the laughs on me

Try to think that love's not around

    Still it's uncomfortably near

My old heart ain't gaining any ground

Because my angel eyes ain't here

Angel eyes, that old Devil sent

    They glow unbearably bright

Need I say that my love's mispent

    Mispent with angel eyes tonight

So drink up all of you people

    Order anything you see

And have fun you happy people

The drink and the laughs on me

Pardon me but I got to run

    The fact's uncommonly clear

I got to find who's now the number one

And why my angel eyes ain't here

    Excuse me while I disappear

  13. PATCHES

    Clarence Carter

I was born and raised down in Alabama

On a farm way back up in the woods

I was so ragged that folks used to call me Patches

Papa used to tease me about it

'Cause deep down inside he was hurt

'Cause he'd done all he could

My papa was a great old man

I can see him with a shovel in his hands, see

    Education he never had

He did wonders when the times got bad

The little money from the crops he raised

Barely paid the bills we made

For, life had kick him down to the ground

When he tried to get up

Life would kick him back down

One day Papa called me to his dyin' bed

Put his hands on my shoulders

And in his tears he said

    He said, Patches

    I'm dependin' on you, son

    To pull the family through

My son, it's all left up to you

Two days later Papa passed away, and

I became a man that day

So I told Mama I was gonna quit school, but

She said that was Daddy's strictest rule

So ev'ry mornin' 'fore I went to school

I fed the chickens and I chopped wood too

Sometimes I felt that I couldn't go on

I wanted to leave, just run away from home

But I would remember what my daddy said

With tears in his eyes on his dyin' bed

    He said, Patches

    I'm dependin' on you, son

I tried to do my best

It's up to you to do the rest

Then one day a strong rain came

And washed all the crops away

And at the age of 13 I thought

I was carryin' the weight of the

    Whole world on my shoulders

    And you know, Mama knew

What I was goin' through, 'cause

Ev'ry day I had to work the fields

'Cause that's the only way we got our meals

You see, I was the oldest of the family

And ev'rybody else depended on me

Ev'ry night I heard my Mama pray

Lord, give him the strength to face another day

So years have passed and all the kids are grown

The angels took Mama to a brand new home

Lord knows, people, I shedded tears

But my daddy's voice kept me through the years

    Sing

Patches, I'm dependin' on you, son

    To pull the family through

My son, it's all left up to you

Oh, I can still hear Papa's voice sayin'

Patches, I'm dependin' on you, son

I've tried to do my best

It's up to you to do the rest

I can still hear Papa, what he said

    Patches...

  14. WHERE HAVE ALL THE FLOWERS GONE

    (Pete Seeger)

Where have all the flowers gone?

    Long time passing.

Where have all the flowers gone?

    Long time ago.

Where have all the flowers gone?

The girls have picked them ev'ry one.

Oh, When will you ever learn?

Oh, When will you ever learn?

    young girls

    They've taken husbands ev'ry one.

    young men

    They're all in uniform.

    soldiers

They've gone to graveyards ev'ry one.

    graveyards

They're covered with flowers ev'ry one.

    flowers

Young girls have picked them ev'ry one.

  15. Sunday Bloody Sunday

    Yes...

I can't believe the news today

Oh, I can't close my eyes

    And make it go away

    How long...

How long must we sing this song

    How long, how long...

'cause tonight...we can be as one

    Tonight...

    Broken bottles under children's feet

Bodies strewn across the dead end street

But I won't heed the battle call

    It puts my back up

Puts my back up against the wall

    Sunday, Bloody Sunday

    Sunday, Bloody Sunday

    Sunday, Bloody Sunday

    And the battle's just begun

There's many lost, but tell me who has won

The trench is dug within our hearts

    And mothers, children, brothers, sisters

    Torn apart

    Sunday, Bloody Sunday

    Sunday, Bloody Sunday

    How long...

How long must we sing this song

    How long, how long...

'cause tonight...we can be as one

    Tonight...tonight...

    Sunday, Bloody Sunday

    Sunday, Bloody Sunday

Wipe the tears from your eyes

    Wipe your tears away

    Oh, wipe your tears away

    Oh, wipe your tears away

    (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)

Oh, wipe your blood shot eyes

    (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)

Sunday, Bloody Sunday (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)

Sunday, Bloody Sunday (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)

And it's true we are immune

When fact is fiction and TV reality

    And today the millions cry

We eat and drink while tomorrow they die

    (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)

    The real battle just begun

To claim the victory Jesus won

    On...

    Sunday Bloody Sunday

    Sunday Bloody Sunday...

  16. Artist: Little Steven & the Disciples of Soul

    Song: I Am A Patriot

And the river opens for the righteous, someday

I was walking with my brother

And he wondered what was on my mind

I said what I believe in my soul

It ain't what I see with my eyes

And we can't turn our backs this time

I am a patriot and I love my country

Because my country is all I know

I want to be with my family

    With people who understand me

I got nowhere else to go

    I am a patriot

And the river opens for the righteous, someday

I was talking with my sister

    She looked so fine

I said baby what's on your mind

She said I want to run like the lion

    Released from the cages

    Released from the rages

    Burning in my heart tonight

I am a patriot and I love my country

Because my country is all I know

And I ain't no communist, and I ain't no capitalist

    And I ain't no socialist

and I sure ain't no imperialist

    And I ain't no democrat

And I ain't no republican either

And I only know one party

    and its name is freedom

    I am a patriot

And the river opens for the righteous, someday
