  1. And it was well worth it. It's definetly the best guitar I've ever had. It feels really nice in your hands.

Hows the sound and quality? I've been thinking about an Epi Hummungbird (square shoulder) and wonder if they are as good as they are portrayed to be.

  2. Well, I had just got out from the county prison

    Doin' ninety days for non-support

Tried to find me an executive position

But no matter how smooth I talked

They wouldn't listen to the fact that I was a genius

The man said, 'We got all that we can use'

Now I got them steadily depressin', low down, mind messin'

Workin' at the car wash blues

Well, I should be sittin' in an air-conditioned office in a swivel chair

Talkin' some trash to the secretary

Sayin', 'Hey now, mamma, come on over here'

Instead, I'm stuck here rubbin' these fenders with a rag

And walkin' home in soggy old shoes

With them steadily depressin', low down, mind messin'

Workin' at the car wash blues

You know a man of my ability

He should be smokin' on a big cigar

But 'til I get myself straight, I guess I'll just have to wait

In my rubber suit rubbin' these cars

Well, all I can do is a shake my head

You might not believe that it's true

For workin' at this indoor Niagara Falls

    Is an undiscovered Howard Hughes

But baby, don't expect to see me

With no double martini in any high-brow society news

'Cause I got them steadily depressin', low down, mind messin'

Workin' at the car wash blues

So baby, don't 'spect to see me

With no double martini in any high-brow society news

'Cause I got them steadily depressin', low down, mind messin'

Workin' at the car wash blues

Yeah, I got them steadily depressin', low down, mind messin'

Workin' at the car wash blues

  3. Turn off your mind, relax

    and float down stream

    It is not dying

    It is not dying

    Lay down all thought

    Surrender to the void

    It is shining

    It is shining

    That you may see

    The meaning of within

    It is being

    It is being

    That love is all

    And love is everyone

    It is knowing

    It is knowing

    That ignorance and hate

    May mourn the dead

    It is believing

    It is believing

    But listen to the

    color of your dreams

    It is not living

    It is not living

    Or play the game

    existence to the end

    Of the beginning

    Of the beginning

    Of the beginning

    Of the beginning

    Of the beginning

    Of the beginning

  4. Shubbs are great. They take a bit longer to put on than a Kyser and you can't leave them clamped to the headstock like a Kyser, but they really center well on the fret and clamp snugly.

    Thanks I'll check them out.

Are electrics more sensitive to the pressure exerted on the strings than acoustics?

It seems like tele's are extremely sensitive to capos, could it be the large radius neck or the style of bridge or a combination of the two?

  5. I think you are thinking of an "E-bow."

    I second that opinion.

    General question:

Can anyone recommend a good capo to use with a Tele?

I use Kyser's on my acoustics and they seem to work excellent.

However, when I use one on my Tele, it messes up the intonation.

I have also tried a Dunlop strap type and it sucks to.

  6. I'll take it upon myself to say hey and welcome to this new little corner of VC.

Over time - there have been a fair number of people who are interested in what gear the band uses, guitars, amps, pedals, keyboards, etc. and with a band like wilco where there is so much sonic innovation there's plenty of room to discuss it all. There are threads in the archives but i thought it'd make more sense to consolodate everything here.

To start with it'll probably cover stuff a lot of us have been over, thats fine, feel free to add or ask whatever comes to mind... and to discuss your own gear/issues/tricks and tips.

    Awesome and thanks!!!
