I hear Jeff has been keeping his chops up by playing suburban living rooms all across Chicago.

Didn't work...but thanks for trying...did you put this up? And/or are you sure it's a safe link? If it's you, if you could re-post that would be great! Thanks however it all plays out!
I deduced the direct link to the SoundCloud hosted mp3 they are streaming. The URL changes periodically, so it will expire quickly. I use the Network tab of the Chrome browser web dev inspector to get the link. Anyone can use that.

This link will expire quickly, but it is a direct link to an mp3 of 1/24

Steven Versaw is the former drummer of The M's and 1/2 of the duo Walter & Wendell. He is also Wilco's production manager/monitor engineer. He's slated to release his debut solo EP this spring on his own Movings Label.
Check out some sweet slide work on the title track at:
If you like what you hear d/l the track and/or tell your friends.
I built this page for Steve and really want to help him get his music heard.

They promoted this on Facebook too. It said if you're already on the list, to sign up anyway and it won't duplicate, but you'll still get the download code. My email never came.
Did you check your spam folder? Automated response emails like that sometimes get caught in a spam filter.
It is the Civic Opera version from 12/12/2011, btw.

Just decided to revisit this set again. It's one of the best, a must for anyone who collects Wilco recordings. Good banter and great interplay between Jeff and Jay. Those shows had some sloppy charm to them, little imperfections peppered throughout the performance. No setlists, you can hear Jeff and Jay off-mic talking about what to play next. And Jay's musical ideas never ran dry; it's almost as if he was working out new sounds, licks, fills and runs right there in the moment onstage.
I vividly remember attending that show. Sitting in the grass close to the stage. They were only two guys on a big stage in front of a somewhat large and spread out crowd in Welles Park. I think I remember the sun setting behind them as they played. I was so glad when this sbd recording started circulating. It sure is a fun listen and illustrates quite a different era for Wilco/Tweedy.

Wilco switched web companies and launched a new web site. I suspect that was an oversight. I would email the general email on their web site: hq@wilcoworld.net.

who hit the operatic final note on "Candyfloss"?
The Sansonic one.

Just posted this in the other thread, but here is my first source
Hey, darktrain, it was really nice meeting you last night.
This turned out GREAT! Nice job.

Wilco at Lincoln effing Hall. Holy shit. What an amazing night. Maybe I can post something of substance after I've slept.
(Since I got home I haven't stopped sneezing. I'm allergic to not being in Chicago and not going to shows!)
"Holy shit"

While it would not be CD quality it would be good enough to enjoy - YES you can rip it via an audio capture program called Audio Hijack. It will capture the stream as a wav or mp3. Then you can put on your iPod or burn to CD.

but you failed to mention if it was a hoT roadie!
What is HotRoadie ID #?
HotRoadie #9?

Thanks, guys. I'm just a lazy, lazy guy, heh heh.
It is a very simple process, especially if you have a Mac and d/l xACT. It will convert FLAC directly to mp3s.
If you do it, think of it like the "pay it forward" principle. If you do it and then share the mp3 version others can benefit. Just like the tapers who "pay it forward" by taping the show and sharing their FLACs with us.

I was SO impressed by Nick Lowe. I googled him and saw he played the Old Town School of Folk music last year and am sad I just learned about him. The guy next to me last night was at the show just to see Lowe. I hope to get another chance to see him.
Yes, Nick has played a handful of times in Chicago the past few years.
I've seen him solo acoustic at Park West and The Green Mill 2008 (also attend by Mr. Sansone), plus full band at Old Town.
I talked to him after the Monday show and he said that he was working out a U.S. tour for the Spring of 2012 and that Chicago would most likely be on the list. He actually asked about other venues that might be good for him. We suggested Lincoln Hall. Later I realized I should have suggested SPACE.

I wish they would webcast one of these shows!!
I highly doubt a webcast will happen for this run.
Though it might be possible that WXRT is going to surprise us with a broadcast of one of the smaller shows that are left. They broadcast one of the 2008 residency shows.

oh well!
Who's going tonight as well?
Technically the 11/17/1994 show was billed as Black Shampoo, right? Maybe Jeff meant the first official, properly booked and promoted Wilco show was in Minneapolis.

Thank you for this info but I think it's odd that they list other shows before and after the Solid Sound shows which also don't have set lists available. Solid Sound isn't even listed.
What happens in N. Adams, stays in N. Adams. I guess.

I have a site on virb.com that I like, I probably will keep it around regardless. Facebook and Bandcamp are fine, but having a clean and centralized location for stuff is what I prefer.
Yeah, Virb is great. They integrate with a lot of musician-related services, as well.
Not sure this is well publicized or not, but they are having a promotion to encourage Topspin users to use Virb. The promotion may work for anyone, even if you aren't a Topspin user. First 6 mos. for $5.00.

I saw that show in the video. It was a lot of fun. Also, saw them at Double Door in Chicago for their record (10" vinyl) release show. Both shows were captured on video and audio by the band.
I don't think I've ever seen John with a wider grin on his face. The live band also included Mark Greenberg (one of the engineers on The Whole Love and new Loft manager). "Trouble's Coming Down" is on frequent rotation in my office. Little Steven voted that track 'song of the week' one week, last year.
At the live shows John sang lead on a great cover of The Who's "Armenia City in the Sky".
With everyone's day jobs and other projects I doubt Candy Golde will play live again anytime soon.
