Groo
Wow, I'm the Man Who Loves You is a bit more complicated than a simple chord progression. Anyone have a more complete tab (at least for the intro, which I know starts with a slide from the first fret to the 13 fret on the low E).
jhc
Wow, I'm the Man Who Loves You is a bit more complicated than a simple chord progression. Anyone have a more complete tab (at least for the intro, which I know starts with a slide from the first fret to the 13 fret on the low E). After that slide up, the first note is a G# - I play it on the B string at the 9th fret. Tweedy definitely plays it somewhere else farther down on the fretboard, but the notes are the same. So hit that however many times, then: e----------------------------------------------b--9-------9----------------------------------g----7---7--7----3-5-3-----------3-5--------d------------------------3-3----3--------------a----------------------------------------------E---------------------------------------------- and hang on that C until the chords come in. There are many ways to play these notes, and again Tweedy doesn't do it exactly like this but it works well enough for me. (Tweedy also capos at 1, I don't - these fret numbers are relative to the nut, but you can still play it exactly the same way capo or not) If you search around, you'll find the topic which shows how to get that signature chord riff, it's easy with a capo at 1 - not too hard without a capo either if you're comfortable with simple barre chord shapes. Thanks! I can't wait to try it out. After this little intro, I hear two acoustic guitars. One seems to be strumming the chords, while the other guitar sounds like it's playing something cooler. Has anyone figured this out? After he says "I'm the man who loves you" the first time, there's also a neat little riff. Doesn't sound too tough, does anyone know that? Magus673
e-------------------------------------------------b-------------13-10---------------13--13--10g--10-12-10----------10--12--10--------------d-------------------------------------------------a-------------------------------------------------E------------------------------------------------- This is the riff after the first "ITMWLY". it would sound better with a slide though.mmm....this is also my first tab ever (if you could call it that) Also, for the intro i used a capo, but if you don't, i think jhc has a note wrong, it should be this: after playing some G#:e----------------------------------------------b--9-------9----------------------------------g----8---8--8----3-5-3-----------3-5--------d------------------------3-3----3--------------a----------------------------------------------E---------------------------------------------- Edited March 17, 2006 by Magus673
Groo
Thanks guys, sounds great. I've been messing aroudn with this a bit, and I think that (for the intro) it sounds a little nicer to play 4 on the b in addition to 5 on the g. Why? I'm not sure, take it or leave it .
