I know what you are saying about it though, but I think the similarity is more in how he pounds on that open string on the acoustic guitar. The lyrics on that are incredible by the way. I mentioned this in the other M. Ward thread but nobody corroborated it for me (although not Wilco-related) but Post-War the song sounds incredibly close to Ryan Adams' La Cienega--obviously coincidental.
