zenlibra
Hi folks, sorry if this has been asked already but I couldnt find anything on the forum and I need to know. I was wondering if the music Wilco plays just before they take the stage this past year is a traditional New Orleans funeral march. It may be a silly question but I don't think I've ever heard a funeral march but I understand 100 years ago it was music that gave birth to Jazz. Somehow I suspect a New Orleans funeral march would sound just like this.
caliber66
It's actually the theme to "Small Wonder."
outlawblues
It sounds like something in this collection of rural brass music from the south in the archives of Folkways Records. Some enterprising someone could probably look it up on www.smithsonianglobalsound.org. This isn't an ad, I just don't have time to find the name of the collection right now.
