Analogman
Well as I always remind people, I actually remember some of this......but yea, I wouldn't mind going back sometimes....it was certainly a simpler time and vinyl records were a bunch cheaper than now. (but so was everything....$10,000 a year was a ton of money in the 60s.) LouieB I was too - but I was 3 at the end.
squarewave
I loved Jeff, and I bought Grace when it came out from a recommendation in Spin or Alt Press or one of those shiny mags I read back then... Kyle, I remember that '95 show at Metro, I had the Metro ad ripped from the IE (Illinois Entertainer for anyone outside Chicagoland), and high-lited that show and posted on my bulletin board at work (for you young'uns, I am referring to an actual cork board, not a BBS...). It was up there for years... Surprisingly, I got comments from the least likely places about the shows I had high-lited on my board.I made some friends and interesting acquaintances from people traveling through our office who happened to be digging the same music that I was into. I had some sort of conflict, otherwise I would have been there. So what it the consensus on the Mississippi river death... tragic accident?? or following in dad's footsteps with suicide at a young age??

Sir Stewart
Really?? I'd never heard that! Suicide? Shit. I was under the impression he was too drunk to fight the tide - I guess that can be interpreted as a kind of suicide, but intentional? Premeditated?
