WaronWar
I saw them last night and they were fantastic. They played for about an 1 hr 40 mins with two encores, and I was front row center. I did not write a setlist down, but most of their songs were from "It's All Around You" and "Standards." But their last two songs from the second encore I do remember because they were the last two. They were "A Simple Way To Go Faster Than Light That Never Works" and "I Set My Face To The Hillside" from "TNT." In short, it was a great show. David Drinnell (I think I spelled his last name wrong) opened the night off with a beautiful atmospheric solo guitar performance. However, I do not think many people were into it. Make Believe was then up next, and someone told me it was the singer's last performance with the band because of family stuff. They were ok, but I was not into the singer's voice whatsoever, and all the songs sounded the same. On a side note: I was surprised to see Thax Douglas there (he read for Make Believe and Tortoise) especially when he read for Tortoise because I thought he did not like bands that were on certain record labels such as Thrill Jockey and Drag City. WaronWar
All I know is that he went to New York in (I think) September, and then came back to Chicago, and has been reading since.
