Wilco HQ Update

Recommended Posts

Greetings and happy Midsummer.

We've got a bunch of announcements so please sit up straight and pay attention. First, on 12 September Wilco will be making it's first Chicago appearance in ages... at the beautiful Frank Gehry-designed Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park. Tickets for this show go on sale at 11 a.m. CDT this Saturday (TOMORROW) 28 July, click here for all of the details. This show, btw, is a benefit with Wilco donating net proceeds to the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless Also, tickets for Wilco's 21 September show in Louisville at Louisville Slugger Field went on sale this morning. Nothing beats fun at the old ballpark. Information on these and a bunch of other shows available here. Note Troutfield, Oregon, Berkeley and LA on the late summer Western tour are already sold out and a bunch more are closing in, so we encourage you to act fast if so inclined. If you're in Europe, stay tuned for new tour dates in Spain, Ireland, and the UK this November.

On other fronts, we know we're late with this but we're gonna do another version of our annual(ish) photo contest; deadline for submissions is September 4 (though we may announce some winners earlier). The concept: submit photographs of you and/or yours during your summer travels, barbecues, trips to the swimming hole etc. Photos should include someone or something wearing/holding/referring to something Wilco, send them to ineedacamera@wilcoworld.net. We, the admittedly biased and unpredictable judges, will award prizes based on originality, location, cuteness, or anything else we deem worthy of consideration. Prizes this year will include two pairs of 3-day passes to the Austin City Limits Music Festival (Sept. 14-16), a pair of tickets to see Wilco's taping of the Austin City Limits PBS television show (the same weekend), a few pairs of shoes from our friends at Simple, and other cool stuff to be determined. So get out there and start shooting.

Hmmm, what else. Our posters for charity campaign on the recent June North American tour raised over $10,000 for local charities and we're hoping to add a bit more to that total as we have some prints available here. Special thanks to those of you who helped us with that and be on the lookout for more charity-benefiting lithos at upcoming shows. There will be more live-streaming shows on the upcoming tour... we should have specifics on the site soon. Also, don't forget that the free download of "The Thanks I Get" and additional bonus content is available to those of you who own or otherwise possess Sky Blue Sky. Info here.

Peace and sunshine to you all.

the Wilco HQ Staff.

P.S. I like the address ineedacamera@wilcoworld.net
