Big Perm
Worthy of a theater experience, uneven, but still startling in many moments, and a solid cast, obviously Casey Affleck to take the cake, and Roger Deakins (DP) knocks it out again, beautiful imagery, shot to perfection. Prolly the uneveness of the film will divide everyone the most, it is long, but again not without some wonderful moments. Slow pace, lingering scenes, and at times an unbalanced script, but I would still say see it, and wonder on the fact and ficiton of this tale.
Big Perm
Hearing lots of Oscar buzz for BP, while I liked him in it, I wasn't as impressed as I was with everyone else. He's good, but if anyone deserves accolades it's CA. Anyone else seen this?
socbret
Deakins is one of my favorite cinematographers (Fargo is probably my favorite movie of his). Thinking about seeing it and Into The Wild this weekend.

bigshoulders
Has anyone read the novel? I picked it up at a local used bookstore the other day along with JKT's The Neon Bible. I started reading that one first b/c it was shorter, but The Assassination of Jesse James... was a Pen / Faulkner Award finalist, I think. cheers,b.s.
