Jimmy Coulas
I attended my first Midnight Ramble at Levon Helm studios in Woodstock, NY and it was an incredible experience. The tickets are a bit pricey at $150, but considering you are at his home/studio it isn't that bad. The music was fantastic and his band is very tight! The band consists of Levon Helm, Amy Helm, Teresa Williams, Larry Campbell (Bob Dylan, Phil Lesh), Brian Mitchell, Mike Merritt (Max Weinberg Band - Conan O'Brien), Jimmy Vivino (Max Weinberg Band - Conan O'Brien), Little Sammy Davis, Erik Lawrence, Steven Bernstein. If you can make the trip you should definetly go! I am already planning on making a trip back!
Lammycat
Do they supply food and drinks, too? I've heard good things about these events. How many people typically attend?
Mrs. Peel
I went to one a few years ago and it was an incredible experience! Did Alexis P. Suter open up? She has an amazing voice, and I know she does most of the dates. Glad you had a good time!
truetolife
Do they supply food and drinks, too? I've heard good things about these events. How many people typically attend? I've heard that they're BYOB, not sure about the food.
Mrs. Peel
When I was there it was BYOB and they sold snacks.
Jimmy Coulas
It is BYOB, but lots of people bring things and you pretty much have a full meal. 49 Mercury opened the show. The drummer for them used to be in The Band in the 90's when Levon was playing bass. It was a great experience and I really hope I can make it too more of them. I in his newsletter that spring tour dates will be annoucned soon. He is doing some shows on the east coast now. People need to see these rambles because it is an unbelieveable experience.
