Wilco Worshipper
So I have lived in the same apartment with my girls for almost 5 years now. This isn't just an apartment, it's our home. This is the home the girls have known the longest since the divorce (7 years ago), actually in the youngest's case in her entire life. (Their Dad has moved three times.) We live right across the street from the town library and barely a half mile from both the schools and the playground. They became very independent last summer on their bikes riding around with their friends and such. This area is PERFECT. So here's the dilemna...my landlord is getting a divorce and losing his house. He lives in the city next to us. He has decided of the 8 apartments he owns, that he wants to move into mine This is a VERY hard town to get into. People like to NOT advertise and use personal connections to rent. It actually took me 2 1/2 years to get back into town after my divorce. We are limited on apartments, as well. So I found an apartment in a building only TWO doors down. The building itself is beautiful. And I'm sure the apartment is, as well. I'll probably be seeing it on Thursday. It's 1/4 more than what I'm paying now, tho My easiest option financially may be to sell my van and downgrade to a lesser, cheaper model vehicle in order to make up for the increase in rent. Or just hope that some better option comes along. Or bite the bullet and assume everything will work out, 'cuz it always does...boy, oh boy. Thoughts?!?
bjorn_skurj
If you like the area and can swing it money-wise, then stay. Having to switch schools can be tough for kids.
Wilco Worshipper
Oh, well the school part isn't an issue, but thanks. Their Dad lives in the same town now.
VenusStopsTrain2
I guess the big question is how big of a necessity is the vehicle? Can you walk pretty much everywhere you need to go? How is the public transportation in your area? It certainly sounds like a good idea as long as 6 months from now that extra 1/4 rent won't hurt you financially. Wilco Worshipper
Oh, I NEED a vehicle. I work out of town w/ no public transportation available to that area. My current payment is pretty steep, tho. That's why I figure a smaller payment would help out, should I make this move. My other thought is moving two doors down would be A LOT easier on the girls, especially my oldest one. She deals w/ change much worse than any other child I've ever heard of or known. VenusStopsTrain2
Well then it would definitely be a good idea to start checking around for another vehicle! Hope it works out for you!

Wilco Worshipper
Well, I found a place 3 doors down from where we are now!!! I'm going to see it tomorrow morning. I could use all the luck possible! EDIT: The one 2 doors down the other way turned out to be an old add
