Analogman
Maybe I am missing something - but some of those are not last albums.
cryptique
Maybe I am missing something - but some of those are not last albums.Love had at least three albums after Forever Changes. Granted, those were basically just Arthur Lee albums, but still. Didn't the Stooges release a new one last year?
PopTodd
I'll just list one because most fans of the band dislike it:Led Zeppelin - In Through the Out Door A really great pop record. Maybe not what Led Zep fans want, but a great album on its own merits.

I think "I'm Gonna Crawl" and "Carouselambra" really drag it down. The latter would have been a good song at around five minutes, but ten-and-a-half is far more than anyone needed. cryptique
CodaNot a real album ... a posthumous assemblage of remnants.

Modified Bear
Don't forget about the Velvet Underground's SQUEEZE -- technically it's their last album, much as everyone would love to forget that. 1. Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over The Sea2. My Bloody Valentine - Loveless3. The Beatles - Abbey Road (should probably be Let It Be, but there's at least an argument for it)4. Nirvana - In Utero5. Joy Division - Closer6. Elliott Smith - From a Basement on a Hill7. The Police - Synchronicity8. The Sex Pistols - Nevermind The Bollocks9. Nick Drake - Pink Moon10. Uncle Tupelo - Anodyne 11. H

cryptique
True, but still their last studio release.Yes, but no serious fan would consider it their "last album." It wasn't recorded to be an album; it's a compilation.
