anthony
I put together this arrangement intented to be played as solo acoustic. I tried emphasize that one D-G Riff as the songs recognizable signature. Let me know if anyone has any feedback. Couple of notes: I like to mixing in 7ths. Try swapping Em7 for Em and A7 for A, F#m7 for F#mm etc.The Outro can be played with the D-G Riff, as well (like the YHF Demo version). Thanks and enjoy! Gobias Industries
Notes: -Giii is supposed to be...I believe it's something like F#dim or something, it's played like this: x01212.-I would also write your Emmaj7 as Em/D# (even though technically the D# is not on the bottom, it seems cleaner to write it as thus).-Your D7/f#s can be eliminated. I don't hear them at all personally, but it is ok. To be honest, look at D7: xx0212. The F#dim or whatever is x01212, so the difference is marginal and so I think it can be eliminated. As far as I can remember I have not played a D7/f# at all when playing this.-I play the D-G Riff first part like this, I think it captures the piano line better: 2------3--------- 3------0--------- 2------0--------- 0------0---2-4p2- --0----2-2------- ----2--3--------- I believe this is how Tweedy does it in the intro on the KTV disc, if I remember correctly. That's about it at first glance.
mfwahl
I play the F#dim chord as 2x1212 and it sounds pretty good. For the last verse and coda I play Dmaj7 and Gmaj7#11 Dmaj7: xx0222 Gmaj7#11: 3x0022
