Gewee
Any clue as to why Wilco would not be opening in beautiful Rosemont tonight?

Gewee
http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?s=&...t&p=1185574 That rings a little hollow since they are heading back out on the road in a few days. The band can be in bed by midnight tonight if they played Rosemont

Wendy
It doesn't "ring hollow" IMO when you take into account what kind of attention to Chicago and the charity and political scene of Chicago that Wilco and Jeff solo have shown in 2008. Gewee, did you get to see any of these shows? Gewee
Yeah made it to a few of them... probably been about 6 months... just strikes me as odd that they would hit Detroit, skip Chicago and then be in Philly and NY later this week... No big deal, just disappointing I don't know. it always confounds me when a band skips a town on the basis that they played there recently despite the fact we'd love to see them... I spoke to one of the members of Yo La Tengo a couple years back and asked why they skipped Chicago last year. Same answer... they always attract a big appreciative crowd... Anyway just wanted to see Wilco and Neil Young on the same stage. Would have been cool
