I Miss the Lounge Ax

Yeah, I started it, but only because nobody else did. I'm surprised at that.

Anyway... if you have pics and videos and memories to post about, I thought it would be a cool place to have for those of us old enough who knew, loved, and miss, Julia's and Sue's place.

I know that I do. And I know that I'm not the only one.

I saw a lot of great bands there from Uncle Tupelo to the Blake Babies to Pavement (slanted n enchanted tour) to Sea & Cake.

 

I remember standing in line, trying to get in for the last day they were open and giving up....line was too darn long and it was cold outside. So we saw American Beauty at the 3 Penny instead.

The first show I saw when I moved to Chicago was Jeff solo at Lounge Ax. Wish it had been around longer.
