Wilco Worshipper
Last night I went and saw this amazing band perform at the All-American Rock Cafe (formerly known as The Pour House). It's a trio led by the great Jim Walsh an accomplished drummer. He shares vocals with his bass player, Jeff and guitarist, Tom. They are a great bunch of guys. They kept everyone's attention with mostly original work with a couple of covers thrown in (Zeppelin and Cream). I'm not so great at describing music so your best bet is just to check out their MySpace www.myspace.com/merricksection My personal favorite is 'She's An Angel' which is one of Jim's tunes If you're going to be in the Western part of Massachusetts next month, their next show is April 4th 8P at the Teapot Gallery. These guys are also Wilco/Tweedy fans and will joining those of us that are going to NoHo at the end of the month!
jimthedrummer
Thanks for the kind words, Ellen... It was great meeting you and Gina (thanks for making the drive out to the stark wilderness of Western MA!)

Wilco Worshipper
Next show is 8p Saturday, May 16th at The Rock Cafe, 280 Worthington Street, Springfield MA. They have an opening band and Merrick Section is headlining the set. They are closing it out w/ a Zeppelin cover set w/ some guests joining them. The four songs on their MySpace definitely cover the range of music you'll get to hear. Also, their CD is due to be released early summer so this will be a great way to get a good listen so that you know it'll be worth your investment P.S. My favorite tune now is "A Crested Wave" www.myspace.com/merricksection

Wilco Worshipper
Straight from the horses' mouth: "Merrick Section is psyched for the Rock Cafe show Saturday night. One set of our originals (upcoming CD, folks) then a set of ALL ZEPPELIN with Jeff King of The Kings and other special guests. Acoustic duo CO2 joins us for a very special evening!!!" Merrick Section is somewhat Wilco-esque And we're talking 'Kashmir' people!!! 'Kashmir'!!! Come on down and take a listen you will NOT regret it!!!
