J_Lefty
Is anyone going to be in attendance of the show this Firday night in Athens, Ohio? I looked for posts but haven't seen anyone talking about it. I am trying to secure tickets now, because I wasn't sure if I could make it. I think I should be able to get a couple tickets by Friday, but I've never been to Ohio U. Does anyone have any information about parking, local eateries and pubs, etc? DAngerer09
I'm so bummed! I go to Ohio University but I am away doing an internship right now. What are the odds that Wilco decides to come to OU during the one quarter I'm not there for the past 4 years. Grrr. Hope you all have a great time. It's a nice little auditorium and the sound is usually spot on. If anyone wants eating/drinking suggestions, I'd be happy to give you some tips on the best places to go. J_Lefty
Good luck on tickets, since the show is sold out...buffalo wild wings around the corner (totally surburban, I know, but cheap) to wait out the opening act. And also beacuse the box office will be holding my tickets and every body else's hostage until an hour before the show, we'll need to be pretty close. The box office doesn't open until 6:30 PM. Well, I have a few prospects lined up, so wish me luck. Nothing wrong with BW3's for some good beer and wings. I'm so bummed! I go to Ohio University but I am away doing an internship right now. That is some horrible luck, but hopefully your internship will prove to be lucrative.
DAngerer09
Man, don't go to BW3. You can get that anywhere. Hit up Casa Nueva, a local joint with great local food and a HUGE selection of drinks. The place is legendary in Athens.

mountain bed
Yes to the Spikedrivers - if y'all are in the area do yourself a favor and check em out. Good stuff.
zach5277
Casa is definitely more of a restaurant than a taco and beer place; a really great restaurant with a really great bar. If you want tacos and beer, I'm sure they can accommodate you. Also, I'm going to plug this one last time as I have in previous threads; if you're going to be in Athens today (Thursday) at 7:30, come out to Arts/WEST for a free advance screening of Ashes of American Flags. More info here: http://events.publicbroadcasting.net/woub/...;eventID=879038 I'll see you all at the show on Friday!
DAngerer09
Casa is divided up into 2 sections. There is one half that is a big bar area and you can also eat there with a limited menu- chips and great dips, nachos, quesadillas, and other appetizer type meals. Then the other half of the place is a full on restaurant. It's sort of an eclectic type of menu with lots of local and organic homegrown foods, but you can also get fairly traditional mexican style burritos and enchiladas and stuff like that. You must go to Casa.
J_Lefty
Sorry -- didnt mean to be negative on the tickets prospects. Much Luck to you. Well, I think you were right. After fooling around with a bunch of Craigslist assholes and losing a couple eBay auctions, I think my luck is up. It's cool, though, I'm going to make damned sure that I get online to buy tickets for the Aronoff Center in Cincinnati as soon as they go on sale. Hope everyone has an awesome time, and drink one for me! I'll break out the Ashes DVD and wait patiently for the summer tour.
tjinoh
Does anyone have start time info? I've seen that doors are at 7:30, but haven't been able to figure out when the opener goes on and when Wilco starts. Thanks in advance.
nashmang
I'm an alum from Ohio Univerisity and was thrilled to see Wilco would be gracing the stage at MemAud! Since I'm now in Denver, I won't be there (Red Rocks, July 3rd). Just wanted to point out that OU has a beautiful campus in Athens, Ohio - often referred to as Harvard on the Hocking (River). If you ahve the time - get there for lunch and spend the afternoon bumming around Court Street. Also - gotta check out Casa Nueva - this is an excellent palce for breakfast as well! Huevos Rancheros!!! Have fun y'all!! - TN

dylan_1
If you don't know your way around it can be very confusing at that campus!!!
