Sparky speaks
One Wing is obviously an allusion to the one government world (see also
Good Old Neon
Are you this Panther guy I've been reading about? No, I'm sort of the anti-PANTHER.
Good Old Neon
Give it a rest already......Keep it in the appropriate thread. That was just a little good-natured ribbing - no disrespect intended. You're a great guy, I'm just messing around. Sorry.
cryptique
I'm gonna get flamed for this but the abrupt ending makes it awfully radio friendly don't you think? Just saying. No flaming here, but I think this is a stretch. Lots of bands who never get played on the radio end songs abruptly.

I kind of figured that. It does take the fun out of music aspect of this forum if you know what I mean.
i'm only sleeping
My theory is that the abrupt ending has been fully deliberate, so not to force Nels to exactly repeat the (inexistent) guitar solo in exactly the same way in performances to come, as it has been the case for Impossible Germany for the last 2 years. I would then expect that, depending on the band mood and Nels inspiration, the song will evolve into unpredictable and lengthy jams, and be recorded for future bonus material. Guest Jules
I think they'll play it live just how it is on the album. And if this "shortened" version ends up on the radio, good for them.

We subscribe to the same theory. I believe One Wing will become a highlight of the live shows, it's a very special song.
Duck-Billed Catechist
I like this song. It reminds me of AGIB.

And if this "shortened" version ends up on the radio, good for them.I also like the album version of this song quite a bit and hope it gets decent airplay, although I'm holding out hope for some added jams at the end when it's performed live. I just hope that if they do, Pat does more than just wail on the same note like he did at the end of the lolla show. I understand that they were still working on the song at the time and that the ending was to just have it dissolve into noise, but still - his playing at the end there was just... I dunno, kinda lame.
