bböp
This was a fun show. I can add some more later, but the band was really loose in a good way. Jeff had some good banter -- for example, a guy in the crowd yelled out "Kansas City!" as an apparent homage to the Kicking Television record and Jeff just sort of shook his head and yelled back, "Ice tongs!" He went on to say, "Let's yell out random things at each other." The highlight for me was when two kids, a boy and a girl, came down to the foot of the stage right in front of Jeff at the start of the encore. At one point during "Spiders," Jeff came over and leaned down to the girl, threw her his pick and let her strum for about 20 or 30 seconds while he did the chord changes with his left hand. She did really well, too, which was very cool. And the setlist was pretty awesome, too. They played nine of 11 YHF songs. Someone would have to check, but maybe that's a record (or ties a record) for the most YHF songs played in a single set? Three dollars and 63 cents
Yeah, that's what I thought, too. That must've been pretty mind-boggling!
JorgyBrussels
I went also to the Lisbon Concert. We arrived some days earlier to visit this great town. Quickly we realised, there wasnt any advertising anywhere! So the show wasnt sold out at all. In the beginning, everyone kept sitting down, but as soon as the encores started everyone rushed towards the stage. You could clearly see the band liked it! Great atmosphere with everyone singing along and dancing. Three words: kick ass concert! After the show a friend and I encountered this American girl from LA, Courtney. Apparently she went to see the whole tour in Lisbon and Spain. Anyways it was very nice to meet her with a great glass of superb Portugese Wine, but we didnt exchange coordinates. So: Courtney where the hell are you on this forum?
