replacements75
I was wondering if any one had some suggestions on a decent not overly expensive system or set up for listening to vinyl. I suppose I need just about everything from the turntable to speakers and everything in between. Definitely wouldn't want to spend more than a few hundred bucks but want to experience the full sound of all the Wilco vinyl that I have been collecting.
Analogman
I've noticed this topic seems to come up quite often these days. Here is the the latest thread. (Buying a record player what do you suggest) Another one from not too long ago.(Record Player Help About to dive into the world of Vinyls...Need some suggestions) How to clean vinyl records. How to clean phonograph needles. Maybe we could have a pinned thread about record players.
LouieB
Thanks A-man...this is going to keep coming up until the big vinyl resurgence dies down in a few years. I have been selling LPs at Pitchfork this weekend, a very fun thing to do, meeting lots of interesting people; and while we have done pretty well I think (not my stash of LPs although I put a few in) I think already the frenzy has died down. People were still buying, but more were looking. Actually even I am amazed how much is being licensed and re-issued on vinyl. Lots of albums that are still readily available used on the original labels are now being sold new. I sure hope these companies, such as 4GuyswithBeards or whatever, know what they are doing. Meanwhile the Numero Group (who I bought a bunch of stuff from yesterday) are doing it right, by reissuing stuff not available anywhere else on vinyl, in really nice packaging. Check them out for something new. LouieB
