tinnitus photography
just got back from dinner to find out about this fucking horrible event. truly gutted; Jack was a phenomenal guitar player, and truly a nice a guy as well. i feel fortunate to have met him a bunch of times, but am really sad that i won't hear him play ever again. tinnitus photography
the story i've heard is that he had a heart attack. he had so much talent, and it's a shame his time was so short.

MattZ
thanks for your posts in here, tp. Did you write that article? Unfortunately, as is too often the case, I appear to have discovered a compelling artist only after hearing about his/her death. Anyone who is a fan of droney acoustic guitars and who doesnt know Jack Rose should check him out. What I have heard so far is pretty great.

What I have heard so far is pretty great. if you want a more traditional sound, the new record from this year w/ the Black Twig Pickers is a good place to start. I think that _Kensington Blues_ is his best, and VHF had reissued it on LP last year so copies are still likely around. or grab a cd if that's your thing.
