sgtpepper64
So, I'm sure we've all seen pictures of Jeff playing the guitar with "Wilco" on the fretboard. I think the best picture I've seen of it is in this Wilco Book. Google is NOT helping me find a picture of it right now... Anyway, I'd like to do something similar to my guitar (obviously not put Wilco on it though, how sick do you think I am?). Does anyone have any ideas of how he did this, or how this can be done cheaply in a DIY kind of deal. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
In a little rowboat
I gotta be honest...im pretty sure its tape on that guitar... so, i suggest...tape...
BreezyGrass
I haven't seen the guitar in question but I would say if it was indeed inlay - there is no cheap way to do it. Inlay can get expensive and I might be wrong but it is an art form in and of itself. I couldn't do it with out some lessons first. Good luck!
anthony
It is definitely a taped Wilco (he said as much in the recent Fretboard Journal article). For inlays, try Captain Bill: http://www.nicholsguitars.com/fretboards.html For DIY, try stewmac: http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Inlay,_pearl.html
