Husker Du tribute band.

Recommended Posts

The world's only Hüsker Dü tribute band (or so they claim):

Hüsker Düdes

Based here, in Chicago. With a high school friend of mine, and Sybaris drummer Eric Mahle on drums.

:cheers

Who else should have a tribute band? Who deserves one that probably doesn't have one?

I'm thinking Meat Puppets.

Maybe call it Other Kinds Of Love, or Swimming Ground. Maiden's Milk? Backwater?

Whatever about a tribute band, the Huskers could do with a thorough re-issue programme of their oeuvre. Some of the stuff sounds like it was recorded in Oscar the Grouch's trashcan. Part of the appeal I know but come on...

Maybe it was a stretch, but I figured somebody on the board would get it.

Take Def#2 ^ ,

and use that for a take on "Hop on Pop",

and you come up with a witty, perhaps overly cerebral, name for a tribute band.

By "Tribute band" I guess I really mean "ripoff band", which is what I usually think of when I hear that term.

It's OK, I usually have to explain my jokes to my wife and kids, too.

Somehow people just can't keep up with my style of humor.

I have to do the same with my wife and kids, too. So, although I did not get the joke, first off. I do appreciate the sentiment and the strange thought process that went into it.

Nice.
