Yeah, so I'm playing, too. But if you could pick only one show, I would prefer you come to see me at a later one that I have scheduled for January.

 

Still, I think that this one will be fun:

 

It's the first one since his death earlier this year and I'm trying to learn new songs now from both Bg Star and the Box Tops.

These are the songs that I'll be playing (if I can learn them all, that is):

 

• The Ballad of El Goodo

• Thank You Friends

• The Letter

• Downs

 

That last one could be a lot of fun. It's a pretty fucked up tune that I think I can have a lot of fun with. The others, hope I just don't screw up too much.

el goodo is kind of tough, but doable. great list. was listening to bach's bottom last night. half great, half unlistenable.

It's not the guitar that I'm having issues with so much as the singing, though. I mean, I've sung along with the song hundreds of times, but when I'm trying to do it justice on my own, I've come to realize just what a hard song it is to sing. And just how good a singer Alex Chilton was.

That is a tough song to sing along to, too. And he was a good singer.
