About 150 very fortunate people turned out in the middle of nowhere inside the gorgeous Adirondack Park in Long Lake to see Martin Sexton play and sing his songs at an outdoor pavilion on a hillside as the sun set behind the mountains and the lake. Martin has a long history and association with the Adirondacks, and said it was dream come true to take his wooden trolling boat straight to a gig! He and his family have a place on the lake. This would be a night of no set lists as he said he take any and all requests that came his way. This was my first time getting to see Martin play and sing, and I have got to say that he is one of the most dynamic and awesome solo performers I have ever seen. Amazing player (all fingers, no pick) and a voice with so much range and emotion that it boggles the mind. Highlights included Beast in Me, Women and Wine, In the Journey, Where Did I Go Wrong, and countless others. He played for nearly 3 hours... I love the summer in north country!
